What is the cv2 Mod and it called anything else. What version of the ring are we using?

It will be fast and wicked. Using the existing IMSA mod. You can pick any car you like. Some are better in the twisties and others in raw power.
Probably around the end of July.

Whew.....I was really askeert for a while after James "The Joker" Bowders said, "...the CV2 mod..." It should be a hell of an event and I hope we have a huge turnout. Ced, you might want to present it to the TPTCC bunch - shoot, you should play it up all over the place and perhaps make it a yearly gig. I know this much, I'll be downloading some version of the track and be practicing it until race time. I saw a couple of 1000 K races there back in the '60s when I was in the Air Force in Germany....GT 40s, winged Chapparrel, Cobras, it was incredible. Please, please, please make the race long enough that we get to really experience it.

That track is a doozie, seems to vary on every single race sim out there, some are smooth like GT5, and then Forza throws you a track with bumps, crests, dips, and fog, I'm looking forward to it.

Interesting Tom. If it were to go all out, it couldn't be with the IMSA mod because of contractual reasons. But it being an annual event does peak some interest. Plenty of time to think about it. Thanks for giving me something else to worry about...lol.

Just throwing this out there for everyone's info. My suggestion for the special event at Nordschleife would be the track call Ring_2007_V22a.rar from rFactor Central. I say this because (and maybe other versions have the same capability) you can get a timed lap right from the start if you go out of the pits the wrong way, make a bit of a left and when you can cut across the red/white curbing make a right and head back to the start/finish line. Don't take the LEFT, just go back by the pits and you will get a timed lap on your out lap. Since you'll be going the wrong way be sure you don't have any flags enabled, of course.
After signing in to rF Central, go to tracks, set it to PERMANENT CIRCUITS/EUROPEAN and sort it A-Z. Go directly to PAGE 7 and the track will be down the page on the left.
If someone has something better I'm fine with that.

I think that might be the track that is used at Race2Play. I was able to do exactly what Tom said and my out lap was indeed timed. I'm finding that the tires lock up under braking more than at any other track. I see tire smoke billowing after every turn that requires braking and it smokes at the slightest touch of the brakes. I'm not sure any change to the grip is necessary though. I'll be curious to see what everyone else thinks. I know that turning laps here is an absolute blast. Certainly keeps you focused at all times.

Yeah the tires do smoke a bit here, but it is a good clean layout from VLN......

So Tom do you go out of the entrance to pit road and start your timed lap or go out the normal exit and do some shenanigans to get it timed. I'll download it tomorrow and take a look.

When you get to pit road from the paddock turn left which actually heads you to pit entrance. Once you get past the armco on the right cut over the red & white curbing at start the lap from there. Be sure there are no flag rules enabled or a DQ will occur.

Are we using the IMSA mod?

Unless we could do it on a Saturday, the earliest I could schedule it would be Sept 22 if we are going to do it at the same PORRS scheduled time. August and Sept are going to be crazy for me with my other hobby. The Club I belong to is hosting the The US Nitro Nationals in mid September and the off weekends are going to keep me busy prepping for this thing. And yes the current GTP mod unless the revised version is ready by August.
