To mark the 10th year of PORRS existence we will be hosting a 2 hour single driver endurance race called the PORRS IRONMAN G.P.
The date is Saturday June 30th. All PORRS past and present drivers have and automatic entry. At present the field will be limited to 26 with 2 spots for possible extra entries.
We are planning on using the Panoz GTR-1 2004 mod and the track will be announced later. (05-14-07, narrowed down to 3 possibilities)

Weekends are usually not good for me to race but with this much notice I should be able to run, please save me a seat 2 hours? Ya, I should be just getting into my rhythm by then. Can I paint a car for this event? Bob

Ced,
What year of the GTR-1 mod are we going to be running? I think I downloaded the right mod and it has 1997, 1998, 2003, and 2004.

Dave's question is important because there are some differences between the years. For example, the 2003 model (I think) has an engine upgrade that uses a hybrid with an electric motor, which gives something like a 100 HP boost. Also, all models (I think) have restrictor plate and ballast settings.

We will be using the 2004 model. Was doing some testing with the default setup at some tracks and the car is next to undriveable for me. The thing is a monster on cold tires as well so be patient your first couple laps. Once the tires are warm and you figure out what you can and can't do with the car it is fun to drive.

I would love to Dave but that may not be decided until end of May. I am working on getting an N2K3 track converted as my first choice. If that doesn't happen by then I will announce the track. But 2nd week of May is my deadline so that still gives you 6 weeks to practice. ;D

Let me contact him and see what he'll do. James and Dave. If you guys are serious about it and I'll buy one, I'll see what kind of deal we can get on 4 of them. If anyone else wants in, say so now.

Ok, BOB is The MAN.
IF we get 5 people to put in an order. That means one more if it's Me, Dave, James (2), he'll take $50 bucks off the price. That covers your shipping and if in Calif, most of the tax.
What say you.... ;D

The only thing that's stopping me from ordering one of these things is the final cost in Canadian dollars. I really like these units but it would cost a fortune in Canadian dollars once it's shipped up here. I'm looking at $443.00 US for the unit, monitor stand and G25 mount, plus shipping charges and taxes. The courier charges, taxes and shipping would probably cost me at least another $200 to $300.00 US, convert that to Canadian dollars and we're talking over $700.00 Canadian. Just not cost effective for me at this time.... sorry. DaveS
