I know we've delved in this world before but what the heck, it's a slow news night.....
With reference to a Logitech DFP......in the game what values are best for the various AXIS settings. How about the various RATES? What values do you assign them? In the controller.ini file is it proper to match the "STEERING WHEEL RANGE" value to what is in "DEGREES OF ROTATION" in the control panel/game controllers/properties?
"Inquiring minds want to know"
Thanks

Larry,
With my G25 that range is connected to the Degrees of rotaion I have assigned to my wheel. This is an ajustable vaulue allowing the driver to set wheel preferences. I perfer a wheel range that does not require me to cross my arms going lock to lock, in doing so the if you force the wheel beyound that range it really doesn't do anything because the range setting is like a combination of software and hardware stops setting your lock to lock range.
But in that summery I can just as well be mistaken, but that is how I understand it to work.

Since I use the Real Feel mod, I had to set the turning ratio for the wheel to 270 within the config file, which is about as close to the real maximum movement of the wheel as what is interpreted in Rfactor with the virtual cockpit wheel.

I started this Thread on another Forum but I wanted to share it here as well the intent was to to gather some information to allow members to look at their Hardware Settings and compare it to what others are running.
My settings:
Wheel: G25 - Logitech Profiler ¡V Specific Game Settings *Use Special Force Feedback Device Settings Overall Effects Strength: 50% Spring Effect Strength: 50% Damper Effect Strength: 50% *Use Special Steering Wheel Settings Degrees of Rotation: 200 degrees
rFactor Rate Settings Digital Steering Rate: 50% Digital Throttle Rate: 80% Digital Brake Rate: 50% Digital Clutch Rate: 50% Speed Sensitivity: 00% Look Ahead: 20% Head Movement: 10% Exaggerate Yaw: 20%
DeadZone: 5 for the Brake: because so many of us left foot brake. This I adjust by running a few laps and adding DeadZone until the Brake lights go out.
