First off CONGRATS to Gary....Well done mate. Well I went the wrong way with a FAST setup but lost too much in the twisty bits. And plus early on as David Hobbs says, I didn't have a big enough set of attachments to push hard. So I raced smart (slow ) and waited until late in the race to do my best Kimi impersonation and started running fast laps...lol. Great Race Everyone. Welcome back Harrison.

Congrats to Gary on his win, good job, bud.
I feel badly for Brent and wish I had thought quickly enough to say let's wait for him. It's especially bad since it was my late car submission that caused his problem in the first place and he's the guy who gave me a setup for the race! Man, do I owe you, Brent!
Hoping I'm not off base here and don't really know if it can even be policed but I'd be fine with restarting a race when we have starting line problems like tonight. I'm not blaming anyone or anything of the sort (and luckily it didn't effect me) but sometimes things happen and I hate seeing people's races messed up at the starting line.

This was a really hard track to get a clean lap at and I think I just plain lucked out and managed to get the pole. Gary beat me into T1 but I was able to get by him on the uphill straight and attempted to pull away from him as best as I could. I reckon my math abilities are right up there with Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies because I figured I’d be turning race laps in the 1:54’s so using my math abilities (or lack of it) I figured I should be able to do the race with 18 gallons to start with and then 18 again in my pit stop. During the race I was turning laps in the mid 1:52’s and this caused me to have to pit around the 25 minute mark rather than the 30 minute mark I had figured so I had to add a lot more fuel during my pit stop than planned. Luckily I realized this before I came into the pits so I put as much fuel in as it would allow me, 25 gallons. Coming in for my pit stop I came in to fast and drove into the inside wall attempting to slow down threw the chicane causing some damage to the car. Adding more fuel caused my pit stop to be about 55 seconds and this put me way behind the leaders. Once everyone else had done their pit stop I was in 5th place a good 50 seconds behind the lead group. I managed to get up to P4 and had Tom 10 seconds ahead of me in P3 with about 10 minutes left in the race. I tried a bit to hard to catch up to him and hit the walls a couple of times doing more damage to the car which caused my top end to decrease. With about 7 minutes left in the race I realized that I wasn’t going to finish the race with the amount of fuel I had and sure enough I ran out of gas about 1/3rd of the way through the final lap finishing in P7. Congrat’s to Gary on his win and to everyone that made the podium. DaveS ;D

I almost forgot!!!! Nice job on the "PORRSIFICATION" of Mt. Panorama, Ced. Good thing I didn't notice them BEFORE the race....I'd have probably stopped at the first tent! Oh, the other added scenery was good, too. Tom

Congrats to Gary on his first win! I still remember my first online win at Mosport in GPL many, many moons ago. I hope it's the first of many more to come.
I didn't really hold out much hope for this race. For a long time I just couldn't find speed at all but finally found a decent setup between grip and top end and was in the ball park with the fast guys at least. I did have a really good qual setup -- 1:48.9 best -- but the traffic was just too thick and had to settle for fourth spot with a 51-something.
After telling everyone to take it easy on the first lap, of course I tapped my own teammate braking at the end of the front straight. Fortunately it looked like he didn't hit anything as a result. Later on that lap, I messed up all by myself just CLOBBERED the wall in that last hairpin before the long back straight, damaging everything on the right side of the car and losing about 6 mph in top speed.
I was able to stay in Gary's draft for a time but I finally wiggled a little and he got away and just slowly increased his lead. I had a little more fuel in the car than most people and led a couple laps before I pitted. The second half of the race, I just sort of held position with Gary, with the lead between 3 and 7 seconds. He ran an absolutely masterful race and second was all I could have hoped for.
Congrats to Tom for 3rd and my teammate Greg in 4th. Already did about 20 laps at Hungaroring and that is going to be a BLAST.

Transferred post from Larry
I have a big apology for quite a few drivers tonight. I would like to review the replay but didn't keep one.
It felt like the rear broke loose and swerved out of control allowing for contact and misfortune for half the field I expect. d**n I feel bad. Believe I can honestly say this was a first for me and hope to never be repeated.
Seems the car in front just held up slightly and I double hit the accelerator which probably caused the rears to break. Don't know what else I can think of. Replay will confirm, which I, along with all, want to review.
I will sit out qualification for the next two races and start from the rear, for starters of my penalty. I will accept any further penalty deemed proper by administration, if it includes no racing for a while.
Sorry,
Larry

Red Weasel Racing Reports
Race Line: Bathurst, Mount Panorama
There was a slight chill in the air while the Red Weasel Racing Team unloaded their pair of Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 cars early in the week, as the mechanics set out to put a good set up on the cars the drivers took off walking the track. Granted the Car chief had the cars ready to go and they sat idle for three days as the pair of Weasel Works drives walked the length of the track. James Bowders Head Weasel and Team Principle was over heard mumbling about “walking is stupid, next time we use the golf cart or even a taxi…” granted the Head Weasel had been fight the loosing battle against a respiratory infection for the last week and was in no mood for the normal track jocularity, like “Pin the Blame on the Car Chief” or “Blind Man Driving”, these and so many more garage games were absent as the team prepared the cars for Sundays race.
As race day grew near, last minute preparations had to be made as a missed software update wouldn’t allow the engineers from fine tuning the cars. With that downloaded and installed everything was ready for qualifying, but somewhere in the hustle and bustle the Q setup was forgotten and the Red Weasels hit the track in full race trim, and it was obvious as the times were posted. But the overall team strategy was to do as they always do, run an error free race and make up the time by precision.
A precision run race is what the Red Weasels were looking for and realization of what lay before them reviled itself as they crossed the start finish line and into an escalating catastrophe. Both Weasel cars took damage on the start, the Weasel Wench suffered a bit more then Bowders did, as he tried to snake his way through the carnage Boyle used the tried and true method of shear force to punch her way through the melee. Being more victim then the initiator of the incident the Weasels fordged on to clear the tire smoke and bent and broken body parts to enter T1.
The Red Weasel Racing Team Fuel Man had his job cut out for him this day, with exacting calculations he went against the Team’s standing rule made by that fine Irish racer many years ago, that is “Fill the d**n thing!” as Plenty O’Fuel said after bringing his 1954 GP Team in last place because his car failed to reach the finish line by seventy feet, it just ran out of fuel.
As the race laps were tallied the Head Weasel average lap times in the 1:54 area and the Weasel Wench hovered around the 1:59 mark, mainly due to the all-around damage that redesigned the overall shape of her car.
Making only two driving errors the Head Weasel finishes fifth over all and second in class, congratulating the winners and all the podiums. Great fun racing and the Weasels look forward to the next event with anticipation.

Well this race certainly went way beyond what I was expecting, I thought I would have an average setup at best, I wasn't expecting to break into the 1.50 in qualifying for a start!
I managed to get a good start off the line but I could see that Dave had more power and top end for the hill sections so I just let him by, Blackcat was giving me a hard time though, wasn't so much seeing him in the mirror but hearing the car in the distance was kind of unnerving, but I started to feel comfortable with the tires after a few laps and I was able to open the car up a little through the turns, giving me some breathing room (lap traffic was helping as well).
I saw that Dave made an exit to the pits, the following lap I made my stop for just a full tank and new tires, 40 odd seconds later I'm out the pits and into third, with the black and green Mazda not far behind in fourth. I didn't expect to wind up holding first place a few laps later, I was expecting Dave to go flying by to reclaim the lead to be honest, I was starting to short shift as it got to the 5 minutes to go mark and I had an estimated 7 laps left in the tank (it's lied to me before at Mosport), and then I finish with about 7 gallons left (less than 1 lap) and still holding first place somehow.
It was an awesome race, even finishing in the top 5 would have made my day, the car was behaving as I expected, and was putting in some personal best laps for the track, didn't have a problem with traffic everyone drove what look like a good race to me (just glad the random stutter didn't attack while negotiating it).

First of All I would like to say it was great to be back racing with the PORRS group. After running 51.1's I was excited about Qualifying. Psych!! Could not get a clean lap in do to traffic on a tight circuit. Pulled a disappointing 8 I think.
The start....WOW! I all I remember is someone checked up and I ended bumping a spun car on the front straight. I was the last guy to get through before the meley. I caught a little damage and a went off getting a little more. I was rusty in the proto's and it showed. If I caused any grief with my crashing I apologize. I am looking forward to some great racing in the weeks to come.

Sorry, Larry Larry, We've all had a bad start and caused pile up's once or twice or three times or ......... it's part of the game. We know you didn't intentionally do it so don't be so hard on yourself. Now take a deep breath in.......and let it out......once more....deep breath in..........then out........... now doesn't that feel better DaveS ;D

Dave - Thanks for the heads up on the page load. I don't host the forum so any input on performance is appreciated. I had to change the thread on the race report after I made the link. I will fix it tonight.
Larry - Don't worry man. As Dave said...it happens to the best of us. If it is really bad I will do a restart but PORRS rules are no restarts. And I especially don't want to do one if I may benefit from it....lol.
