I think it's that marvelous brick-like aero. I worked like a dog to catch up and pass Bob in his Ferrari and the very next straight, he blew by me like I was standing still...

I'm going to study the numbers for the cars again and see if I can even things out a little better.

Paul, it was the draft that let me go by you. I did the same thing to James. I let you by knowing that if I didn't, you'd draft by me and at that point on the track there is no way to catch anyone before La Source. I would have to wait for another long straight and it was the last lap. So pulled the ole Nascar finish.
I almost screwed the pooch on the last corner. Was way too conservative. I had to depend on the Ferrari power to out drag you to the finish. But you had a run on me and you would have caught me.
Your race and my dice with James is what this should all be about. Even though I finished fourth I had more fun than I've had in a long time.
I thought the size of the track would make the race boring.......Man was I wrong.

I think the draft was a lot more helpful to the Ferraris, Eagles and Loti than it was for the Coopers. The draft effect I had was minimal and seemed to gain more in the corners than I did in the straights. Full credit for your passback -- you got on my right exiting that corner and I could hear you but not see you so I had to stay left and off the line for the upcoming corner which made the pass easier for you. A perfect job. I just about spun exiting La Source but I knew flooring it was the only chance I had.
