The best race I can remember in this league and one of the best I've been in ever.
Incredible back and forth race with Greg over most of the contest. We were absolutely even -- whoever had the draft would pass the other, often twice a lap. Amazing.
Congrats to Sandy for the win and to everyone for a great contest. Thirty seconds first to eighth...

I have to agree with Paul. This race was insane. Top 9 places finished on the lead lap. Battles throughout the field all race long. You had to earn what you got in this one and it was gratifying. While the start was a little shaky because of the old school start lights. That allowed Don to get away. But he was soon joined by Paul, Sandy and Pat. And what a battle they had for a while. I found myself in an alternate universe battling Terry and Nick for position...ok, that was strange. But goes to show you that with the weights, everything is pretty close. Had a helluva battle with Nick for a bunch of laps until 10 minutes to go and I put my head down and starting reeling in that glob of 3rd - 7th.
Great Track, Great Race, Great driving by all.

I agree, we seem to have gotten the weights right. The next race will tell. Paul and Greg put on a great display of the advantage of the draft. I lost just a little time to them and they swapped slingshots til they were out of my reach. All alone I couldn't do anything but watch them motor away. I thought my only hope was to get a tow from my teammate, Terry but when he caught me I bobbled and I lost his slipstream. Probably would have been a closer finish if I had managed to draft Terry. Both of us would have made up some serious ground. Anyway, I had a ball. I owe Paul an apology. Early in the race I wasn't ready for the closure rate on a draft and I drove right into him. I never thought I'd catch him when I did. Luckily for me he rebounded. But I still probably cost him a couple of spots. What would be really nice is to have peripheal vision when someone is trying to pass you. I know I came close to bumping into someone because I didn't know they were beside me.

This sure was fun while it lasted for me too. I did run outta time with it being a cleary sunny aftrnoon here in Seattle and had to get an outing in with family. I have some things to learn cause I botched the paint installs and Sandy was an ugly gray boxcar (no offense!). The start lights were like I've never seen, luckily my HUD showed the start time appearing & I was on the gas in time. Fun lapping up at the front with some of you, I was running light fuel cause I only had 15mins for racing. Will try for more events this summer, but 4pm Sunday in summer can be tough time (better then dinner tm as is so often for us west coasters!) Watching for GP67 racing this fall, when I have more free time, its an rfac FAV of mine. Thx for hosting Don Fleming

Yeah Don, when you said that time and beach in the same sentence I thought West Coast. My Brother and I are in Cali. But you get a longer day in the summer in Washington. Booooooooo...lol. Love Pioneer Square when ever I'm in town. Do they still do the underground tour. I always wanted to do that but I thought they stop some years ago for safety reasons.
See ya next race.
