sandy 'robo'nson, lol!
no kidding--hopefully we can give him a challenge at this version of interlagos. it's a massive, almost 2 track fun lap but there are a few places where you can outpace yourself and run wide.
have really enjoyed the gp'67 cars and the follow on gp'70 mod--all stick and rudder! no fly by wire, computer guidance, fire and forget stuff.. just mash those gears and drive it like you stole it!
cheers, greg

I've been real busy this week so I just took a lap around Interlagos. I'm waiting on my AAA map to come in so I can find my way around this mini Nurburgring. :-)

Man another wasted one. After lap one I found myself in third and pressing Terry hard. Decided to lay back and see where the fast guys were making time.....First mistake..off I go....darnit. Had a good battle with Head Weasel and Leadsled...Good Fun

It was great getting back in the driver’s seat for the finally of the F1 1967 summer series.
Without any real time to work on a setup, I chose to run the default and Miss Susan went with something I believe she had gotten from the elusive and slippery Sandy.
The track Interlagos in the 1979 configuration, I kept wanting to run the newer configuration but broke the habit quick enough to post some good lap times during practice, but come Qualifying, I just didn’t get my Wea`sel (kind of like Mo-Jo…pronounced “We Sell”) going and up finding a starting spot near the back…
With the Green flag I pounced on it and did my best to look like a Weasel on Fire as I did my canon ball imitation going into T1, and it was on…as the gaggle of vicious beasties rounded T3 heading for T4 several drivers found the grass as they went wide I was able to capture a spot or two and the Collins brothers were going to give me a working over, first it was Pat in his British Racing Green Lotus, then Ced gave me a roux, but he also gave me a chuckle when he did a fantastic Flying Squirrel bit as he fought to regain control after a short OTE and went curb jumping.
Lots of fun and even though I was out of it for way to many races, it feels good to be back.
Thanks for the Racin’

Well, for me it was fun for a while, and had some close racing with Greg.....thought to myself, "Isn't it great to trust another driver and race this close?" Thanks for the battles, Greg---nice driving.
I started making some errors, and couldn't quite hold it together, finally disconnecting myself to stop the madness. Checked my blood sugar (Type 1 Diabetes), and found myself at 50, which is significantly hypoglycemic. That provided the answer. Odd, as I had prepared well for the race, i.e., eating enough time before, etc......maybe the CA heat, or ?
Anyhow, this was a fun series, thanks to all, and looking forward to the fall.

thanks for that terry--i felt the same way
you got the hole shot and i lost count of how many times we swapped the lead the first few laps. i had real trouble when heavy trying to apex the 'speedway' corners (t1-t2), and you consistently sucked right up and by me exiting onto the straight. i had pretty good rhythm in the middle and most of the last section, but you kept reeling me back in after i'd overtake.. scary fun!
i just tried to race the track and avoid any ote's until 'sled kept hammering off hotlaps. the battle was on--amazing we both ran :41s on the last lap, that was surreal.
