I decided to take the Mazda out for a spin here, and spin I did That car is a handful... Certainly likes to roll over. I'm thinking this track.ini might have too much grip. It's the one I downloaded from here, also... Well, quickest lap I pulled off in the mazda was a 1:00.038 with some minor modifications to the ChassisD baseline setup. Almost 2 seconds off my Sauber lap, so I guess it is pretty quick here. Then again, I haven't driven it anywhere else, haha. Scott

The grip settings definitely need some work. I got the Sauber into the low 59s but within 4 laps the rear tire temps were hitting 270. The track's fun to drive like this, but the tires will never last.

You guys scared me to death with that talk of 58 second laps. I'd been running the original ini file. Last night I got down to a 1.01.3 with it and thought I was doing fantastic. Then I read those notes tonight and wondered what was going on so I came in here and immediately turned a 1.00-flat, but like others, my tires were gone within 4 laps or so.
And, from a more subjective view, this track isn't as much fun when you've got that much grip. Part of the enjoyment is fighting for traction in the esses and that gawdawful penultimate turn.

I will recheck the settings in the ini. I'm sure the 2x is having a major impact on the tire temp. It also could be my setups as I didn't notice the temp increase you are mentioning. I will do some testing tonight.
If anyone is up I may have the server online around 10:30 pm est. as the league that normally uses it is off tonight.

Really just need to focus on not touching any curbs now, cuz whenever I do I get up on 2 wheels and end up flying off the track at very high speeds. Makes for some excelent replays though. Scott I hear that, Scott. I clipped the curb at the final corner, got up on two tires, and went over, and over, and over, and... well you get the point. After about the 11th or 12th flip, I drove away for another lap. A 1:11 that includes 12 rolls is a pretty good lap, I think. Got down into the low 1:01s using Achim's Tunlanta setup. Felt pretty quick but I really gotta learn where the braking and turn-in points are over the hill after T1. Also have to dial out alot of understeer in that set as I couldn't get the car to turn in even with the high grip level. Funny, but I usually have oversteer problems with Achim sets. Should be a fun track!
