Well I was just glad to finish that one, qualified in the time range as the other Mazda's, so I was around eighth I think, start was okay Leads led blasted past, then VAL a couple of laps later, I was hoping to be consistent and just keep up and hopefully pit stops would work out. But I caught the dirt on the outside of turn 7, and the car wanted to introduce me to the wall, so I pitted a couple of laps early, got the car fixed, and went out again. Less than ten minutes to go I managed to find a wall again on the last corner, and had to crawl to the pits again, came out and may have unintentionally caused Ledslead to go off although I stayed to the inside for the turn (sorry if I did Ledslead) almost quit at that point, feel like I have lost touch with driving lately, need to make the last few races a good finish.

My first race here and I am really starting to like this mod. If I can only get the car to go straight. Qualified 4th which was much better than I had thought. Start was ok. I was overly cautious the first few laps but hung in there. Then I came up on 3rd place and we raced hard for a few laps but he let me by after a few laps. Thanks to whoever it was. I was pretty consistant and was keeping the leaders in sight never more than 3-4 seconds. Then I could hear the phone ringing through my headphones. Didn't think anything of it. Came in to pit and had a hard time pulling away and lost 3rd. Stayed steady and 3rd was mine once again. Started to push to try and close on the leaders was catching about .3 per lap with 15 minutes to go. Phone rang again, then 5 minutes later again. I turned the volume down to listen the next time. It was my wife spun, then crashed and spun again finally coming home 7th I think. All in all a decent race, I know now I need to run less wing because even the lapped cars were WAY faster than me on the straights. Next race should be a little quicker...

Wow, what a race. I never , in my wildest dreams, ever thought I'd end up on the podium.
My wheel was crap. It was all I could do to keep it on the track. Tight turns were a
nightmare. My car was really fast and it handled good taking in account the crappy wheel. I have to
apologize to Don, I know it looked like I was blocking but I wasn't. My car just wandered all
over the road. Also , Rick, I had to hold you off until I could reach a straight. I had low
downforce and I knew I could pull away on the straights. No intent to block. Well, maybe a
little :-) All the aliens kept having problems and I just motored along. I did so well because for the
first time I can ever remember, I did not make one mistake. Well, at least no bad ones. Congrats to Mark and thanks to Scott Leon-Guerrero for the help he gave me while I was
trying to overcome my problems. I thought I had second nailed until I saw I was running out of gas. I had to slow to a crawl. It
was agonizing to watch Scott catch and pass me and to watch the seconds dwindle down
between me and Fryman in fourth place. I just managed to hold him off. It was a good thing that I slowed. I ran out of gas running up the hill to the start /finish line.
I coasted across. I really wanted to catch Sheldon for the points lead and on that last lap I was just sure I'd
run out of gas and not even finish the race. That would have hurt. Thanks to Greg and James for letting me by. I didn't have my lights or my "thank you"
programmed in my wheel. James, I hope I wasn't too agressive on that one pass. I was chasing someone and I might
have got a little pushy. Road America is a great track with its long straights and sweeping turns. It levels the
playing field and helps drivers like me that aren't normally competitive.

It was a fun race for me. I tussled with Sheldon for most of the time I was on track. I would get around him after he went off a bit then it would be my turn to go off and he would get me back. Finally, after pitting at halfway, and really starting to get tired, I came back on track and found myself again right behind Sheldon. I noticed his car was not as stable and had slowed down a little. Even though I was getting very tired, I thought I might could stick it out so I tried to get a shot by Sheldon again and maybe hold it this time. At this point, we were in 7th and 8th place. But tragedy struck at turn 5 at the end of the Moraine Sweep. Sheldon was just ahead of me and he put the right side tyres in the grass and was struggling through the turn. I had to swerve more inward to miss him than my car could handle and I ended up scrapping sides. It was enough impact to spin me around into the inside wall facing the other way. I am sorry that I made contact with Sheldon and I hope I didn't hurt his car too much. Myself, I decided at that point, that I had had about all I could stand so I quietly got off the server so as to not bother any concentrating going on. I enjoyed the race but I am just blown away at the warp-speed aliens here at PORRS. These cars just kinda grow on you like my exwife did in more ways than one! See you at the next race if my health holds up, Val

that was a very fun race, really enjoyed that one. I think I had less incidents than the last few races, at least it seemed to me No problems with the contact Val, I came out ok. But I was concerned I had wrecked you as you dropped out after that
