I think I could have had a good race too, if I hadn't had my head up my arse. At these speeds you have to keep alert and stay on the d..... track. It didn't help that my pit crew got pissed at the way I was driving and refused to give me service. So I couldn't finish the race with no fuel. Interesting race though. Although a little too much NASCAR for me. BTW, Tom looked like we could have done better if we had hooked up.

I had a great 1st start the second one was terrible. A little too much gas and I spun into last plus 4 seconds. The Breast Cancer Awareness toyota pushed me untill I got back up to Pat and Scott. Somehow I got through the pits 2 seconds faster than Scott who had closed right up on me. The Pat and Scott express reeled me in again only to make just enough mistakes to let me get away. I think many others bad luck let me get my position by attrition. Congrats to John on the win. Every one have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year celebration.

Well the little Toyota that could ended up with a better than expected finish. After doing some last minute gear tweaks the car was stupid fast in the draft. It was a great sucker but not a leader. Felt bad for Scott so dropped back a tad to see if we could both catch up with the group in front, which worked for him....lol. Once that Q Jag got a sniff of the group ahead it was Hasta la Vista Baby for me. I think for those with pit problems I think it was pit entry. You had to be on the right and follow the entry. Meaning you had to enter pit road through the dotted lines on the track or no service. Great Race everyone and congrats to John and Sheldon for the class wins.
Everyone have a Safe and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

But your not sure?? Might have shared that info on the race packet before the race started, since pit entry was not clearly marked
no toe stepping, just a sad way to end the race...............

Not meaning to step on any toes here but I always practice some pit stops leading up to race day so I know where to enter the pits and where to accelerate at pit exit. An example is that it looked like Bob got clipped and spun because he slowed and tried to pit from the front stretch instead of using the entry lane. (I also make many practice race starts in an effort to not get hit from behind or plow the guy in front of me.)

Ford dude, Scott did not clip me. He was aware that I was tapping my brakes and he avoided my ill fated pit stop. It was very close but but Scott made a great move. I , too, practiced my pit stops. I did the same thing that I did for time after time in practice and this time I hit an invisible block. I always like to practice starts and pit stops because they can make or break your race. I also made sure I kept to the left when going by the pits to keep from hitting exiting or entering cars.
I had a really fast car. But at first I couldn't hook up with anyone. Thanks to Pat's tow I worked my way back into contention. The "Ford Dude" gave me a push as well but the Ford couldn't stay with my Nissan. So I took off after a faster tow. I tried to hook up with Scott but it took forever to connect. Unfortunately I had to pit shortly after. The rest is history. The Nissan was fast but not as fast as the Jaguar I had practiced with. The Jag is wickedly fast. However, I just like the Nissan. Kinda like Tom and his insistence to drive a Ford product.
I had really wanted to somehow hook up with Nelson. We really drafted well in earlier practices. We turned some awesome laps.

Congrats to the NASCAR twins for P1 and P2 in Quali. Those were some awesome laps. I got a decent start BOTH times. I have no idea how that happened. but I did practice my starts this time so I guess it payed off. Slotted into P2 and was ready to draft for 59 minutes and stay in P2. Got a run on Rick and ended up in P1. Was waiting for him to draft by on the back straight but it never happened. Once I was clear of the draft I just put consistant laps togther until the first stop. I turned the boost down to P1 and was till running fast but was able to go one lap more than P1. At the stops i had 6 seconds and after I had 15 seconds. Just concentrated on hitting my braking points and being as smooth as possible the rest of the track to keep my speed over 202 MPH. Was finally lucky enough to make it and was very happy to secure P1. I was a bit confused that early in the race that the guys behind were not able to draft together and gain and pass me. Not that I'm complaining though. Always 2 cars were faster than 1 so it was a bit strange that alone I was able to keep pulling a gap. See everyone at the next one I hope

What kind of top speed ALONE were you guys getting? With front and rear DF at 1 the Probe wouldn't get over 206 (and only for a second on the downhill part) with the boost at 1 OR 10! Gear changes didn't change anything either. Just wondering.

Tom, a couple of other things you can do. Raise the ride height, close the brake ducts, and stiffen the shocks. I was able to run the Ford and see 208. The same as my Nissan. The Jag is a little faster even.

Rick I did not know that before the race. Only speculating after watching the replay. I practiced pitting following the line in and didn't have any issue.

Yeah, I tried it offline, and had the same result left side of cone no-service, right side of cone, service. I had pitted in practice but I guess I always had gone to the right of that cone, oh well, throw another one away..............

Good video Ced. I enjoy your commentary. When Rick and I used to race slot cars the shop owner Bill Pinch used to play the announcer during races I thought that added alot to the experiance. Your race vids enhance the sim experience thanks.
