I just received my trophy today for first place in GTP Lites for the 2013/14 season. The trophy is beautiful and I am so proud to have it. It will be on my desk permanently.
Not only did I win a race overall for the first time in my PORRS career but now I have managed to win the class Championship. I owe my success to Capn' Dale Smith. He was a huge help to me. Scott Leon helped me early on as well.
I really set out to win this year after coming so close last year. I put in a lot of seat time preparing for each race. I tried to make every race and at least pick up podium points. Situations caused me to miss the Norisring race, a dual point race early on. I thought that would prevent me for having a chance at the title. Then I missed Imola as well. I hated that because I was running real well at that track.
Our drivers are the best. I had very few times where someone did some fender rubbing. And even that was "just racing".
I continue to have a healthy respect for our Pro drivers. No way I can compete these guys.
Thank you Ced for all you do to make this such a great league. I'd also like to thank James Bowders for his part as well.
