Bob, I'm ok with you taking the 1st stint and if Rob wants to take the 2nd one that's fine with me too. So that would move to the 3rd, right?
As for how we communicate the driver change, I think we should set a window of maybe a half-hour (15 minutes before to 15 minutes after scheduled switch) where the next driver must be ready to get the "signal" from the current driver. Whether that's with Ventrilo, Teamspeak, IM, or even by phone.
I think Bob's right that we need to practice this before we try it in race conditions. We also need to figure out how long a normal fuel run lasts, and try to time it so each person's last stop is as far into the run as possible. Will the race be 1x or 2x pits?
Lastly, did we decide on the Jag or Sauber for this 1st race?
Thanks.
Sandy R

Hey Brent,
Unless I'm blind, I read all over and can't find anything about a specific format for submitted your carfile. Can you check with your SBR guy and let me know.
Thanks

Races are always 1x....I find that a fuel tank generally lasts 1 hour. Car paints....one of the guys has a topic for the cars paints....it is under GTP Paintshop - "official team paints" sticky, should be the first topic in gtp paintshop. He apparently has it set up so everyone can use a program called paint updater so you dont have to keep finding new cars yourself. Ced I think you just do a post in that topic with a link to your car. There is also a topic in there to show how to setup paint installer if any drivers like to do that.

Hi All
1) Sandy, Yes we are going with the Jag for this race. 2) I am working on a scheme I should have finished by Tomorrow, If it totally sux ass I'm open to suggestions...lol. 3) I will have the PORRS server up later this week so that the Eastie guys, if they want. Can test connecting and making sure their player file is correct. File coming shortly. 4) I will update the driver stint change. For now, Bob, Rob, Sandy, Charlie, Ced. 5) Ventrillo, etc. What would be easier. If you have a pc with a Mic and speakers that will work. I thought I saw something that WOSEC had a Ventrillo server but now can't find it. Will look for another. Also, we could post here as soon as we are out and have a backup addy for another place incase of a problem here. We can tell if the user is online and waiting with this forum. And lastly we could exchange phone numbers. But calling that Canadian might be expensive...lol.
WOSEC 12 Hours of Sebring Driver Duties
1st 7:00 - 10:00 Bob 2nd 10:00 - 12:30 Rob 3rd 12:30 - 3:00 Sandy 4th 3:00 - 5:30 Charlie 5th 5:30 - End Ced

Thanks for giving me second stint. That will work out nicely.
Regaring driver swaps. I do believe we need to do some practicing on this... I for one have never done this before.
How many of us are on MSN Messanger or something similar? Would that work for giving the next driver the signal to log on?
I've used TeamSpeak also to a minimal degree, but not Ventrilo. I suppose they do about the same thing. We could try those, too.

It'd probably be better to use a voice chat thing, since with MSN or other instant messengers, you can't really talk on those when you're driving. Whereas with the voice chat stuff, you just stay on a certain channel the whole time and talk to everyone...

There is a verntrilo server which has a room for each car ie porrs 1 and porrs 2. May want to check with VB and make sure he has yours setup if you decide to use ventrilo. With a room for each car (when u run 2) u can keep the chat to a minimum, maybe the porrs 1 driver doesn't need to hear what the porrs 2 driver needs, so it may be distracting, maybe not. Check out the "TEAM info for online racing" subject on the forum and go to the "basic team setup" topic. I think there is ventrilo info there along with some other stuff. It is really nice to be able to talk to the on track driver and plan strategy, talk about the track conditions, etc. Unfortunately, since I am on dialup I cannot do this when I am in the car. I can only do it when I am just watching the race. Can get lonely at times Also, the WOSEC server is up for testing 24/7....hopefully VB has given you that information. Also be sure to have NRTV installed so you can watch the race, this also helps in the driver changeovers as u can watch your car come down the pit lane etc.

I'm gonna have the same problem as Brent. I can't use the voice while in the car cause my con can be taxed at times. NRTV will work nicely. I've used that before. But since I'll be the last driver I can be listening for when to jump in the car.
Charlie, it's really straight forward to use.
Thanks Brent, I'll shoot VB an email tonight if I don't see anything from him.

Maybe what we can do is just run NRTV. I assume what we'd do is simply wait for the current driver to blink off, then immediately log the new driver onto the server. That may be as easy as doing anything else.
If we wanna double that up with Ventrilo or something, that'll be cool. Would havta get me a headset though.

it'd be faster with ventrillo, cuz the guy out on track could tell the next driver that he's about to pit, then the next driver could start up the game, and sit in the multiplayer screen. Then as soon as the previous driver says he's disconnected, the next driver just click start, or join, i forget what the button says Scott
