I know we have good drivers when you can not only go 1 lap nose to tail at Heartland without a crash but 3+, I saw a couple offs..lol Probably me.
Good Race Guys, just wish I had more track time to be more than a passing obsticle.

Apologies to Bob for spinning him early in the race. I really didn't do very well, losing my rhythm in the middle of the race and getting hit a couple times -- probably because I was unexpectedly slow in corners -- and just going off on my own couple others. I finally woke up right at the end and set personal fast laps for the race the last two laps running but it was too late by then.

Had a good qualifying time, placed 3rd on the grid. The front runners made it clean through the first corner and then Sandy and Scott slowly started to pull away from me (was expected). Ran a clean race in 3rd place most of the time turning laps in the mid to low 10's. Came in early on lap 25 I believe for fuel and new tires and then put my head down and tried to catch Scott who was in P1. After the pit stop I was turning laps in the mid to high 9's but Scott was running laps faster than me so I knew I couldn't catch him unless he made a big mistake, which of course he didn't It was a fun race on a very tight course. Back markers did a great job of letting lead cars by. Thanks for the fun guys, cya all at Mosport DaveS #38 M&M's Sauber

heh, yeah, once I regained the lead I made sure no more mistakes Coming into practice I did surprisingly well, I hadn't run anything under 1:09.7 for a couple of days. Then all of a sudden I come into practice and turn 1:08.9...I qualified very well, my first pole I think apart from Cleveland. I almost wiped out in the chicane on that lap, I keep watching the replay, I got the car almost completely sideways, and somehow saved it, but I still carried a lot more speed through than I normally was, surprisingly. Braked way too late into the chicane on lap 2, went through the grass and spun, but kept it going and got back on track in 5th...caught up to Brent, but there must've been warp on his end or something, I gave enough room from my view, checked the replay even, had a good 2-3 feet between us, but it appeared as if I bumped him, the way he spun off, so, very sorry about that. Worked my way up to third, tough track to pass on, took me a while to get around Dave, was trying to rely on him making a mistake, which he wasn't doing Finally got by on the inside of t1, caught up to Sandy in first, was on his tail for a little while, then once again looped it in the chicane, but this time i did pretty much a perfect 360 and kept it on the road and got right back behind Dave and had to try getting by him again, I don't even remember how I managed it this time. Once I got up into 2nd, I started reeling Sandy back in, lapped cars helped me catch up , stayed behind him for a while, was hoping I could make something happen with some of the traffic...then going into the 2nd last turn, one of the backmarkers was there, Sandy went a little wider than usual, so I thought I might be able to squeeze by on the inside, but I didn't get far enough over and just tapped his right rear...I'm really sorry, I didn't to make a pass like that. Pretty close racing, Dave was only 8 or 9 secs behind at the finish. All of us in the top 3 were really close to eachother for quite a while. Was fun. The points stats will be close now, first place is definately up for grabs between Sandy and Brent, and same with third between me and Rob. Can't wait for mosport, used to drive it with the trans am cars quite a bit. Scott

Big panic for me as I had the wrong version of Heartland apparently, don't remember where I had gotten it. But the download finished and I was able to make it. Qualified 4th with a pb, for some reason I was a couple seconds quicker on this version than the one I had been practicing on. Dropped to 5th on the start and had a couple incidents including the one Scott talked about. Looked like warp on replay too. Then I had a major problem thru the second to last left hander as I came up on Ced, he pulled to the left and I guess we both got outta shape and touched. I haven't seen replay of that yet but we were only going 35-40 or so and I ended up flying into the catch fence. Kinda weird. At least it was near the end of the lap so tow time was only a minute and a half or so. I didn't bother taking tires just fixed some damage for a few seconds, filled fuel and took off. Fortunately, I didn't realize til later, I would not have to stop again for fuel. I began tyin to reel back some positions. Tuff place to overtake for sure and not much place to go if you are being overtaken too. Managed to get back up to 5th after pit stops and then followed, but couldn't get past, Bob for what seemed like an eternity. Finally got past but then on the last lap, or second to last, we were side by side down the back of the track, but I guess my line made it easier to hold the position. Good clean racing Bob. Was a ton of fun. Congrats to the podium!

Fun race... didn't think I would enjoy Heartland Park, but I did.
Put in a 7th place qual effort, which was a bit lower than I had hoped.
Got a good jump on the start, and settled into race pace in 5th, behind Brent. Had a couple good solid opening laps, but I self-spun once at T5, and I lost some time, and a spot, too, I think.
Settled down midrace, and eventually got into a bit of a tussle with Paul. Was interesting cuz I would make a little mistake, then Paul would, and we kept together for a number of laps. We had one coming together when Paul got out of shape and got going right when I was coming by. I thought I had cleared you, Paul, but after viewing replay I realize that I chopped in front of you pretty hard entering T9, I believe it was. Sorry about that... one of those racin' deals, I hope!
I plowed Nick pretty bad at the exit of T2. Nick had spun on exit and I didn't have sufficient time to avoid as he moved from left to right across the track. I feel bad about crunching you, since I painted your car!! Thanks for running it!
Scott, I was the backmarker that got involved in your tussle with Sandy. I tried to move as far left as I could to let you guys continue your battle. I was bummed when I saw you all tumbling about.
Ended up finishing 6th a lap down. Grats to the podium, and to Scott for finally getting your win. Shoulda been your second here, buddy!
See you all in Mosport!

Yea Brent,
That was wierd, especially because I didn't feel any contact and as I got going I looked in the rear view and saw a car stuck in the fence. I was laughing so hard I missed the next corner. But I was still trying to figure out who it was and how they got there. Sorry mate.
BTW. Your SBR teammate warned me about not trying to steal you back...lol. Seems like a good guy.

Hey Brent, I had a blast as well, good racing with a bunch of guys. I got a good start (seems you held up the other lane for me) then instead of doing my usual "get out of the way/crash while doing it" thing I just ran my bal...er, drove hard, and did not mess up too bad. I was concentrating so hard I did not realise I was playing with the points leader, and when I did I got nervous and started to leave the inside open, which you did not just dive into but ran me clean and hard, and I almost threw it away a couple of times. I now know why you are (or were) the points leader, you are a great driver!
Great fun.
Bob
