My apologies to everyone whose race I messed up today. I put a lot of time into preparing for a 12 hour race and did not practice enough for Aintree. A slow qualifying lap put me back toward the back of the grid but I got lucky and picked up several positions at the start. Unfortunately I managed to run slap into Gary and that started the problems. I knew my car was damaged pretty heavily and tried to stay out of the way heading back to the pits for repairs but just could not control it and ended up coming back on to the track in front of others. I know I wrecked a number of cars and am terribly sorry for that.

Put quite a few laps in at this track over the past couple weeks so was happy to get the pole. Got off to a good start and was able to gradually pull away bit by bit from Sandy in P2. Pitted midway and came out right behing GP and had a nice little scrap for a little bit. After all the pitstops sorted out, I had a good lead and rode it out til the end. Missed the Weasels and Rob, see ya next time.

I guess 20 minutes to learn the track, make a setup and practice is just not going to cut it... caused problems in practice and in qualifing due to this, also gave Sandy a good bump in turn 3 on the start, so from now on if I can't find time during the week to get ready for the race I think I'll just have to pass before I really mess up someone's race other than my own.
Hey Brent, I was surprised you let me have the fastest lap for so long in this race, but I knew that there was no way you were going to let the race finish without getting the fastest lap, you really had this one down ;-)

Must've been the flu bug in PA or something... with me and the Weasels absent.
Actually, my flu bug is pretty much done, and I was practiced up (I think) for the event. I just didn't forget about when qual started, and I didn't get to the server until the race session started.
So, what were the lap times at the front? Just want to see if I was competitive... was running 25s in race trim.
Ugh... Rob

I think fast lap in the race was a 1.21.9 or so.

Had a fairly good qualifying run, managed to pull a 1.24 somehow. still placed 11th though, got a good start but still got bumped off the start line, kind of helped me gain a position though, don't know what happened at the second corner of the second or third lap but I got truly punched in the rear and wound up slamming the concrete hay bails.
Crawled back to the pits, and was down to 13th, after my 1.10 pit stop and a new differential I got going again, happened again a little while later where i just spun on my own and hit the wall or something and went back to the pits (same story about every other 10 laps), surprised I made 8th but this track must have a high attrition rate since I was the last car I think (and we started with 14+).
I didn't get any time to practice the track besides getting to the server about an 30 minutes early, I'll make sure I won't make that mistake at the last two since they are street circuits and there is no room for slipping up.
Don't worry Forddude, didn't even know what happened, I was just happy to be in the race.

First of all I had no right being in this race. I had my hard drive crash last wednesday and the only PC tech was going on vacation. And I am really...........really ..............in the woods. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for him it snowed too much at his destination that he had to cancel and thereby could work on my PC. I worked continuosly on my puter right up to race time. And then found out my game was freezing. Thanks to Ced and some others I got it working good enough for the race. But I chose the wrong car and had not practiced for over a week. Knowing I had friday and saturday to practice. But alas, old Murphy's Law struck. I still did well until I got into a shunt and had to have a 84 sec. pit stop for repairs. Then after going back out I managed to T-Bone my own teammate and put both of us out. "fingers crossed" maybe I'll be ready for the next race. Surfer's Paradise is it ?

I got caught up in somebody else's wreck which cost me 89 seconds for that stop as well as having to make an additional stop late. Brenda went through a fence and then couldn't get back to the track and finally just disconnected. Overall, a night to forget for both of us.

a lot like my friday nite fiasco in the beemer, caught up in somebody elses wreck.. sorry to hear that paul. we both had good starts and i was happy to slot in a couple seconds behind for the beginning stretch. that last section was a total blur at aintree--the one time i got in trouble was being slightly to the right of the apex when racing side by side with (brent?). got a wheel off at maximum velocity and somehow slowed enough to avoid damage before re-entering at the final turn, phew! the rest of the race was pretty uneventful for me with no other offroad excursions or meetings w/concrete haybails greg #78 miska

Red Weasel Reports
Well, the Head Weasel had to go to Eglin AFB to do a week of work and like a good home owner I shut down my IT stuff and that of course turned off my Wireless Access Point and the Weasel Wench was unable to connect to the world outside. Maya copa, maya copa.
I'm back and the network is up and running...and my office is 20 degress warmer than the rest of my house again.
