Qualified 3rd with not to bad of a lap. I managed to out brake Brent into turn 2 for P2 and after that I just attempted to stay ahead of him. SA had engine problems or something about 1/4 of the way through the race so I was in P1 until I make a braking mistake into T2 and Brent got by me for P1. It all went down hill from there. I spun a couple of times in that little switch back between the two houses, and then as I was attempting to pass Paul Hamilton going up the hill he attempted to block me for some reason because he was a lap down. I hit my braking mark going into T2 but he didn't and he sent me flying into the outside sand trap. I then hit the guard rail and wrecked my motor. Oh well, maybe next race.

Man... what a lot of fun.
Logged onto the server, and for some reason my wheel was buggered up... so I had to spend some practice time trying to get that working.
Qual was good... ended up with P4 but a good bit back from Scott, Brent, and Dave.
Had a good start... but I couldn't hold onto the leaders. So I tried to settle into a good pace in the 38s. Got a 37 here and there. Had a good run with Paul for a while, and then with GP for what seemed like 20 laps or so.
Nominal pit stop... good enough to provide a 5 to 8 second cushion over GP. By this time, Scott had fallen out with his clutch problem, so I was in 3rd. Then Dave had his problem as indicated above... so now I'm in 2nd.
Brent was coming up fast, and I tried to yeild to him once, but I think he was just content matching my pace, albeit a lap ahead. Finished 2nd on the lead lap.
Hit Bob doing donuts on the straight after T1 on top of the hill on the cool-down lap. LOL!!
Good start to the season for the Creative car... see y'all in two weeks!!

You know, Dave, we've raced togeter enough that I hope you know I don't resort to those kind of tactics...
I did not block you, I was taking my usual line when I saw you coming behind me and moved completely over to the left so you could pass, which you did.
I was on the brakes EARLY so you could clear me, but apparently you've never driven a Toyota -- they don't have to brake until much later than the Sauber so I didn't miss my braking point at all. I just didn't expect you to move back to the left like you did. If you'd stayed inside, we both would have made it easily.
I've got a replay to prove all of this. Want to see it?

The day started off badly as I blew the engine starting my second qualifying lap but at least had got a banker in. Slid wide in turn 1 near the beginning and settled into 7th. Followed Charlie for quite a few laps and squeezed through at the tight right hander after the esses. Was going well in 6th and matching Paul's times. We pitted on the same lap but I went over 40 in the pits (again) and had to come back in. Had a couple more spins and stupidly tried to spin through 180 to point the right way at the final corner only to get in the way of Larry, Charlie and GP Haley...sorry guys. Was closing quickly on Charlie at the end but had Paul's Agip car between us and was never able to get that 5th place back. Still not a bad result and a great track to start off the season. Congrats to Brent on a first win.

Well, Dave, I'm not going to argue about it any more. I didn't expect you'd pull over in front of me, but I had no reason to deliberately hit your car and am very disappointed that you'd accuse me of doing so. I did what I was supposed to do when being lapped -- I held my line and drove in a predictable manner.

Got in a decent qualifying lap and started in P2....Had a pretty good battle with Dave S for the first half of the race, I trailed him by 2-3 seconds, he'd pull away a few tenths and I'd get them back but overall I didn't really get a good run at him. Was hoping to maybe make up time during the pit stop. S Arrington went out early and after the pit stops I found myself about 21 seconds clear of Dave with 14 laps to go. He was gonna have to run very quickly to make up that kind of time so I maybe played a little cautious, while checkin my f2 screen constantly...I think Dave gained about 4 seconds on me when his incident happened maybe with 9-10 to go? After that it was just a matter of keepin it on the road as Rob (now in P2) was almost a lap behind me. Good racin and thanks for the room to all.

I had no problems with you Tony. We all have those bad nights... in fact, I had one of them last night in my other league... but we won't go into that!
It'll get better for you, I'm sure!!
