All I can say is that Brent is amazing. We were within 2 or 3 seconds the entire race and he never made a single mistake and I just could not catch him. I don't think I've ever been that close for that long in my whole racing career. A very well-earned victory.

Red Weasel Racing
Race Line: Phillips Island
What can we say? Man those are some sharp turns. The Weasels started 9th and 10th on the grid and only because of mistakes made by others the Head Weasel was able to slink his way into 7th but the slick track and sharp turns added to the frustration that would pelage the Weasel Wench during the event. Like a few others she found sliding off on the two crucial turns and slapping the wall causing a few repeated Pit Stops for repairs started to wear on her rhythm.
The only real door to door racing I had was with the Mad Metal Squirrel himself as he fought tooth and nail to reclaim his lost time from visiting his own body shop relocated onto pit road. His magic Mazda was faster on half the track but the untamable Reynard could hold its own on the other half and made for some exciting laps.
Congratulations to the Podiums for a smooth and clean race.
See you next time.
James Head Weasel

Sandy, Paul and me happened to show at the same time on Saturday to do some practicing. After running nose to tail and swapping fastest laps several times we knew this was gonna be a wild race. And it was. I was behind for the first half of qual and then put in a surprise lap that beat Sandy by .100, with Paul extremely close after that. I think he was just .001 behind Sandy, was that right? Anyway, got the pole and got off to a clean start with Sandy and Paul battling close behind, and more right behind them.
Most of the first half of the race we were separated by no more than 5 seconds and much of it was 1-2 seconds. I pitted 4-5 laps later than the other guys but when I got back on track I was just 3.5 seconds in front of Paul (same as before the pitstops). The last 20 minutes the gap see-sawed between 1.0-2.5 seconds. The sound of that freakin Pilbeam (!!) drove me nuts, I've never spent so much time looking out the rear view. As Paul mentioned, I managed to avoid making a mistake as there was no room to do so as he would have been gone in a heartbeat. Awesome race to all, as I see the P2 battle was pretty wild too. Thanks to Sandy and Paul for some great, clean racing!!!

Hmmmm,
Well the first 4 laps were awesome for me. trying to keep up with Terry and running I think it was 6th or 7th at the time. Then I went a little wide in one of those turns with the Freakin, rip your exhaust pipes off curbs. One of them caught the undercarriage and literally threw my car into the guardrail...Bam.....85 second damage stop. So I tried to make the best out of it and do a single stop and dumped a ton o fuel in it to try to make it to the end.....Rut Roo, 2 laps short.
I for sure had the wrong 6th gear in the Mazda because all the other Mazda's, once in 6th, flew past me. The good battles were with Head Weasel. A lot o fun and respect. Side by side, nose to tail...good stuff.

During one of my many pit stops, I was trying to reset tires and fuel settings and ran into Susan in the pit lane. Totally my fault. I am very sorry. Please forgive me. burmcat
