Started 6th but then found myself in third. Brent got past me and then Scott but Scott lost it at Paddock Hill and Sandy blew up. I was in second and keeping the 12 sec gap to Scott. Then I came across Charlie, who I can only assume (hope) thought I was racing him. Charlie, you wrecked my race, keeping me behind for 3 laps and the gap to Scott disappeared to about a second. I had to try and overtake and made a lunge down the inside at Paddock Hill, got through and clipped the kerb and spun into the barrier , engine smoking, limped round to the pits losing a lap and then another one for repairs. Then my Pc foze, which is probably just as well. I'm sure you didn't mean it Charlie but this was my best race ever and I just feel disappointed. I can understand holding up a car for a couple of corners if you're not sure who it is (I did that to Tom when I came out the pits) but 3 laps!!! If anyone has the replay for this race I would really appreciate it..not to review the incident with Charlie (that's done and over with) but just to see the racing before that. Thx and congrats to whoever the winner was...great track

Ok calmed down with the help of a beer and gotten stuff in perspective. Didn't mean to go spreading bad karma around the boards

Wasn't expecting much...I have little time to do any racing...so I put most of my free time towards getting consistant at the Glen for WOSEC...Hadn't run any laps at all, so as soon as I got home from work I hopped on to try getting a decent setup and managed to break into the 19's...
I qualified 4th...was an interesting race...got up to 3rd right away...not sure what happened to Rob...he had the inside going into t1 but then he let way off as if to let me through...but I was doing the same for him (not sure why he let off so much as he was in front of me)...so I just went by and then I saw him spinning off behind me in my mirror...
Held third for a bit...Sandy lost his motor or something? Was second...then going into paddock hill (t1?) hit the curb car got up on 2 wheels and rolled over...landed upright and I kept on my way with a bit of damage...Not too much longer lap 18 I noticed my car was handling particularly bad, so I hit F5 to check the tires and the left front is completely red so I'm like oh crap...and I hit my "Pitting in" macro, then pop the tire blows up.
got into the pits...dropped to 3rd I think, somewhere around that time was when I started chasing Stephen, I was staying pretty even with him till he got caught up with Charlie. Got 2nd back. Throughout the race I'd been having a few small offs, but with 6 laps left to go everything went awry.
My pit crew must've fixed my car pretty well as I was pulling off my fastest laps yet after the 2nd pitstop...hit a mid 1:18...was blasting up the front straight started braking for t1, I guess I started to turn a little too early as I cut it tight and mounted the inside curb again...car started to get up on 2 wheels, but this time I corrected instead of letting it roll over...which apparantly was the wrong thing to do...the car started to fall back down but, went left off the track, car got on its side and slammed into the wall damaging the engine. I putted around in 1st gear smoking, brought it into the pits but they couldn't fix it.

Steve E if i held you up for 3 laps, and you only where a second behind scott what the hell you complaining about. if your such a great driver , you cant make up a second? its amazing been racing online for years and in this porrs league on and off for years. first time i`ve ever, to my knowledge, had someone complain about my driving. its amazing after going down 3 laps, getting slammed into wall at least twice. that noone else had a problem getting around me. i bet if you look at replay i even pulled off into grass at least once a lap to let people by.

LOL Scott... I don't know what happened either, cept that I spun. I probably need to learn to be a bit more agressive on the starts. After the aforementioned start, I had another self spin, which put me down in about P9 or so. Ugh. The second spin also caused some "engine" damage, but I suspect it was more aero. Got up to somewhere around P5 at mid-race, after I finally settled down and began clicking off some good laps. Pitted a bit early, changing my mind twice whether to change tires or not... I eventually did. Stayed in long enough to get some damage fixed. Clicked off more good laps the last third of the race, and through attrition, was able to pull up on Tom. Got a bit excited too early, and slid off, losing a couple seconds. Made it back to within 0.5 seconds of Tom with a lap to go, but couldn't find a safe way around. Settled for P3 after a start wrought with spins and indecision. On to the Behemoth I guess!!

My first PORRS race was a lot of fun.......and a lot of luck. I'm actually a B Groupie in TPTCC but since I already had a Sauber painted and know more about it than a Mazda or Toyota I figured I'd just stick with it. The start was exciting with an accident right in front of me at the top of the hill right after the S/F line. Thought I had picked my way through but uh-uh, tagged someone coming across the track and spun into the fence which, according to the spotter, caused damage to the rear. Apparently it didn't make much of a difference because my lap times were good enough (for me). Kinda made an on the fly decision about pitting because I really hadn't given it much though beforehand. Pitted about mid race after moving up to the top 2 or 3 spots through attrition - certainly not speed! Took tires and a fuel load with the idea of just a stop and go for my second stop, no tires no gas with about 10 laps left.
After that stop I could see Rob closing like gangbusters on me. It was touch and go whether I could hold him off for second but fortunately, for me, he slid off and it gave me a little cusion. I was just fast enough that he couldn't get by in the short time that was left.....one more lap though and it would have been different.
I had a lot of fun and will make as many races as I can but with bowling, golf, TPTCC, yardwork, 2 vehicles to care for and a part time job I just can't do 'em all. ;-)

Sorry to the person I took out while spinning. I got booted right after qualifying then got back in and had graphic anomalies to the point I could not see. Then someone lost an engine and I got my windscreeen covered with oil and couldn't see again. After 10 laps or so I gave up. It was very strange that my car would not drive right and my cockpit kept disappearing then It would be back and I was spinning. I look forward to a much better showing next race.

The gap to Scott reduced to a second or so after I got stuck behind you. But that's the point Charlie. I'm not a great driver. I was disappointed because I was having a good drive by my standards. No has ever complained about my driving either and I have never complained about others. I'm surprised at your reaction Charlie especially since if you read my second post I clearly try to make light of the situation. Now I just feel p**ssed again. Ok so you realized you were a backmarker so now I'm even more mystified as to why you didn't let me through Firstly, it's a difficult track to pass. Secondly, I could have easily nudged you off in a slow corner or 'slammed you into a wall' but didn't. I didn't want contact and was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you really thought you were racing me. Thirdly, If a driver is a lap or more ahead they shouldn't need to 'get round' someone. So why did you choose to not let me by? Charlie you seem to be admitting you knew you were a backmarker and yet felt I should have had to fight to 'get round' you while admitting that you let others by. So why the double standards

Qualified P2 and Sandy got off to a good lead a couple laps in when I ventured into the grass. Then Sandy blew up and gave the windscreen a healthy dose of oil, it was very difficult to see so I just tried to stay on the track until my pitstop. After my pit I guess I had a loss of concentration and went off in the grass at the difficult left hander a coupl of times--Turn4 i think(I seemed to all of a sudden forget my braking point duh). Brands is a difficult place to pass for sure and had some adventures while lapping others--I was probly being over cautious but I had a pretty good lead in the 2nd half of the race. Was fun, wish Sandy could have stuck to the end.

Well, that may be some of it... but I think I was too cautious going into T1 as well. I never felt real good in that corner because the braking zone, at least for me, went right through that first kink. I hit the brakes way too early considering the somewhat slow start, and that probably back people up a bit. Bob, if the car to my outside (that was Scott P. BTW) was blinking on and off, I can see why you were getting in even a little more cautiously. That's a difficult first corner in these cars for sure.
Live and learn... LOL.

i dont even know what car your driving, so now you think i picked you , why? i dont even know who the hell you are. Ahh... My name is Stephen Ellis. This is my second season with you in PORRS. I drive a Taka-Q Toyota that is yellow and looks like a bumble bee. The number of my car is #39. It was behind you for about 10 laps of good clean racing at the first race this season at Gothenburg. Looking forward to more good racing Charlie. Steve E
