Qualified 5th and was having a good early run until I started loosing touch with Rob around lap 3. Decided to settle in and run my pace. Saw a few cars go out so I knew a top 5 was good. Then got in a pit strategy battle with Charlie that would have worked out until I made my only mistake of the race with 2 laps to go and Charlie got me. Good race Charlie and congrats to Sandy.

qualified 6th, by the first turn was last. someone or 2 slid off track and by the time i hit s/f line was sixth.was doing ok until i had to pit.when i went in for my pits i was 3rd. the pitchief confused me, thought i had to slowdown before hitting pit road line.so i lost alot of time there. after first pit started running better lap times. then noticed i had to make time up on ced if i was going to finish ahead of him. make long story short i wasnt making enough time up, till ced spun. then we traded spots a few times. but think his car was hurt as i could pull away on the straights. also i think this first race i wasnt lapped by the speedsters up front. ;D had fun , nice track Ced.

Started P2 behind Sandy and figured on cruisin a little bit and maybe saving some fuel by following Sandy for s bit but I got out of shape and spun. By the time I got back on the track I was toward the end of the field. And then I think on the next lap the engine gave way goin down the straight. I guess I must have done something to the engine when I spun or when getting back on the track.

Qualed P4, which was good I think with the Jag... too much drag. Had a good first couple laps, making it up to P2 after Brent's departure, and spin by 2 others. Remembering that I ran out of gas in the ZJ practice race (2 weeks ago) at the end of every 6th lap, I had to pit every 5. So, I got into pit battles with Ced and a couple others. A couple stoopid self spins didn't help either. My biggest trouble was my throttle. I think I'm getting the proverbial "pots" problem, as I could only make it to 204 under "full" throttle. Ugh. Will have to try driver update etc. by next race. In the end, my "pit every 5" requirement caught me out, as I lost 2 positions when I pitted at the beginning of the L16. Ugh. Woulda coulda shoulda... ugh!

I wondered what happened to you Rob at the end. But funny you mentioned that about your speed because I noticed that too with my Jag. Around lap 11, my top speed went from 211 to 206 for no reason. I could see Charlie gaining on me fast everytime we got on the straight.
Might have been the game giving mechanical problems. Plus I lost first gear when I pitted....Go figure.

Hi all,
Enjoyed the event and had a good run. Fun track Ced.
Qualified 3rd and got a 2 finish, but would not have if Brent had better luck. For me that is real good.
Regarding speed variations, my speed was around 111 to 112 tops most all race but today I tried some practice laps again because last week there was a time I was gettng around 115 tops and times around 3 31 xxx. Today I again got speeds up to 115 and some times at 3:28:317 best and was between that and 3:30:8xx.
With those times I might have been within a minuite of Sandy.
I was wondering if anyone else was getting better times in Training mode than we were getting in the race and if so why do you think the reason? Most of the time we were running alone out there.
Anyway, hope those of you that went on to the 330's had a good time there as well.

"Fun" is a relative term when running Nurby, but I finished at least!! Seriously, the 330s are really fun to drive, and the MNRL 330 group is a good group of guys.

Yeah, that bummed me out about Nurb. Barely made the race trying to guess when the sprint was over. Maybe we can get norm to post something somewhere between events.
I got squirelly on one corner and ended up spinning so many times I forgot which was the right way and got DQ'd for reckless driving.
Oh Well.

Brent,
Please forgive my ignorant comment above. I did not mean it was good that you had bad luck. I should reread my comments before submitting.
I ment it was good to have finished 2nd but I know that would not have been the case had you not lost it. I really would not want anyone to be out of a race.
I feel quite stupid after reading my statement.
Hope you understand. We all know you should have have been battleing Sandy for the number one position.
Boy, is my face red!

I never got a bad impression from your post at all Larry. Part of racing is luck, but it really wasnt bad luck that I didnt finish...the damage to the engine must have happened when I spun so it really is my fault. Through our sim careers we gain positions due to someone else's retirement and other times we lose spots because of our bad luck...It works both ways. Next time I'll just try to keep it on the tarmac
