All street courses sounds like a great idea, including Monaco!
St. Pete is great too.

Monaco is a joke. Tracks like Spa or Silverstone have to beg to keep their races and Monaco is never even questioned. Makes me wonder how many millions Max and Bernie are paid to give it a sacred spot on the schedule.

I agree, Monaco is a thing of the past since the modern F1 cars. It is nothing more than a glorified parade. Actually the whole season is. And this comes from an old F1 fan from way back. I think F1 excitement ended with the introduction of the wing. But..................... for the SRF it might be a better race venue. High speeds for these cars is nonexistent.

I wouldn't dare try Monaco in one of the higher HP mods like enduro_challenge or F1, but Monaco is ideal for these SRF cars. The lower horsepower makes them easier to drive, so there's much more room for error as well as more passing zones. Much more interesting in these cars than a high speed track like Spa or Hochenheim. The GPC79 version is good, as is EMG_Monaco. Neither one of them are frame hogs, so it's just a matter of preference (with chicane or without).

OK, I looked around and as I was starting to build a template I found there is a PSD template included in the MOD, and a WINGS.bmp for the added bits.
Take a look...it is in the folders with the cars

Hey Paul, There must be templates...Bob has already submitted his cars. ;D Now for the car handling. If everyone thinks they are lacking some grip, and I will be heavily into testing this weekend, I can do something about that . I remember watching these on speedvision and the handling is burned into my brain...lol.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! V 2.2 of Spec Racer Ford is now available on RFC. Can I assume that we're going to use this version for the summer season?
Edit to add that the only place that's hosting this file is File Front and for some reason I cannot download from there, so if somebody could help out, I'd appreciate it.

I was able to download 2.2 and install with no issues.
Can someone tell me if there is some kind of step-by-step tutorial somewhere on how to save painted rfactor cars? Based on what I've seen it looks complicated but I'd like to give it a shot. What do you save them as? Where do you save them? Etc.
James B. was kind enough to paint me a car for Ironman and I never used it and that seems like a pretty good waste of his time.
Thanks,
Jim N.

Ced, you might want to change your racing format just for this season. Instead of one long race how about 2 heats ? BTW, seems like all of Team MOMO will be participating in this series.

Yes Bob,
I agree whole heartedly. What say you to two 20 minute races with a 5 minute break.
That way if you screw the pouch in race one you still got a shot.

v2.2 installs a Templates Folder, so you can find the NEW template there. It is different from v1 not to much but just enough.
I think I have my car template sorted out, so now all I have to do is the helmet and driver suit.
I ran a bunch of laps with the v2.2 and I do like it better than v1, the car does handle a bit better. All in all I do think track selection will be the make or break factor for these cars.
I ran Teretoga and these cars are fun there. I aslo ran Festival der Geschwindigkeit, Altstadt and that was a real hoot I really recomend we look at that track, those cobble stones streets work well with this car. I think I'll try Grand Valley next.
more later...
