I would suggest we run an ALMS type setup with Group A drivers in prototypes and Group B in GT cars. Last season was prolematic because the performance of the two groups of cars were too similar. I would also suggest the use of weight rewards to balance out the lap times of drivers within the groups.

After trying out both mod's I didn't really find that much of a difference in times at Barcelona between the two of them. I did find the Fabcar's easier to drive with or without T/C. What if we all ran the same mod's but like Paul suggested, have weight added/subtracted each week to balance the field out.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. I would have to get up to speed on adding the weight and have some type of equitable system. For all participating in the 2nd group, they would have to start off with added weight for the group and possibly some other distinguishing mark on the rear of the car.
So if this is the group choice, which mod? If the Fabcar will give better racing than the Epsilon, I'm for it.

I just downloaded and tried the NAGT mod at Road America and WOW WHAT A BLAST!!!! The control you have over these cars is amazing! Want the ass end to step out around a corner - just give it a bit more gas and you can control the slide all the way out of the corner. Great fun and well worth the wait. I realize that most of the people in this league also run in the TPTCC league using this mod but boy would it be fun to run it here as well. And it's already setup for weight penalty.

took some laps at mid ohio. high tc in the epsilon was 2 sec faster/lap than the fabcar. 10 gal fuel stock setup no changes made. I figure the epsilon is much more setup-dependent than the fabcar meaning the epsilon has more speed to gain if the setup is worked on. The fabcar is a good drive right out of the box type of thing. NAGT----whats up with the mustang...anyone else have a problem with cockpit error. Took a few of the cars on track, nothing prolonged but it is a good lookin mod.
This is the only series I run so I'll go with the crowd...i know the racing will be great no matter what.

NAGT is a great mod. The problem with using it combined with another mod is that it uses a 2-deep directory structure. There's a thread about this on The Pits forum but nobody has found an easy solution. If anybody could solve this, I'd be delighted to run the NAGT Porsche -- it can hold it's own against any of the cars in that mod and it's more fun than anything I've raced, period.

I haven't run either mod so I can't comment other than to back up what Ced said. This is a prototype league. I'm a B driver and I don't want to get stuck driving a GT car.

Your absolutly right Bob, I was just so friggen excited about the NAGT mod that I lost my head there for a while. LOL The fact that this is a Proto Type league excaped my mind (what's left of it ) I'll race what ever mod we decide to use. DaveS ;D

I suggested that mod when it first came out. It's fantastic, and there is a meaningful gap between the performance of P1 and P2 cars -- more so, in fact, than in real life, but that would serve the purposes of this league well. And I will already have my car painted if we use it...

Agree with you guys. This is a prototype league and Du Mans 2.20 looks great for it.

Ran both Epsilon and Fabcar at my test track (Toban) and like them both a lot better than NAGT. Of course, happy to go with whatever the group decides.

I gave the Fabcar more of a run at Laguna (about an hour), I think the fabs are more of a short stint style like the British Touring Car series, as I noticed the rear tires were going bad after about eight to ten laps.
Or Laguna is just hard on the car?
Epsilon seems okay after giving it another spin with a default setup and medium traction control as suggested, it's not that bad but Laguna has them both pretty much pegged at the same times, the fabcars being a just under a second quicker.
