I guess I just wasn't destined to finish this race. About twenty minutes in, I lost all my telemetry -- no dash, no fuel info, no flags, no nothing. So I just guessed when to stop and I was counting laps so I'd know when to make my second stop when the screen went blank and I crashed back to desktop. I had the vitally important message from Windows that my Reliability Monitor and ceased working and been stopped. Oh, and by the way, rFactor stopped too.
Sheesh.

Similar problem, second stint of race, chasing 3rd and game just hanged, I had this problem last week on Friday while in a test run for this race, I think it's the graphics cards for some reason Display device 0 had a infinite loop, I don't think there is anything I can do about it, I turned off the Physics just now, I'll put the track through it's paces again and see what happens.
I hate it when it's a problem beyond my control, I'm going to find out what I can do about it, but it is strange since I didn't have a problem at Eastern Creek?

I was running up in 2nd behind Justin, just trying to conserve fuel then we came around the last corner and started down the front straight and there was Nick's car on the track not moving. Justin and I attempted to avoid him so we both went left but I ran into the back of Justin's car. This caused aero and suspension damage to my car and I was now a good 6 to 7 mph slower and didn't corner very well. Because of this I was loosing a good 2 to 3 seconds a lap to Justin. A couple of laps later I spun and Tom got a head of me, after that it was just a race of survival and I managed to come home in P3. Sorry to see Paul disconnect about 2/3rd of the race in.
Congrat's to Justin on his first series win and to Tom for a well deserved P2 ;D

Dave summed up my first few laps except I was infront. I think I lost a good 12kphish and handling from the contact but after that there were no issues but troubling lapping people, no fault to them, just my car was poorly setup for that. I didn't expect to win after going off a few times but somehow I did. Had lots of fun racing/practicing with you guys. I think I am going to stick with the Pescarolo instead of jumping to the Bentgeot. Nice job Tom and Dave.

For those of us old enough to remember wide world of sports. I have that ringing phrase in my head "The Agony of Defeat."
I'm still digging the hole and have the bottle of JD next to me. Man I don't usually get this bad but after closing in to Justin and running second late into the fuel run I was feeling pretty darn good. No major mistakes in the first half and able to battle back from the minor ones I had. Had some good battles with Paul and Tom (sure they were suprised to see me up there...lol) Then making a stupid arse mistake after exiting the pits ruined everything I had done to that point.....
UUUUGGGGGGG....you are a block head Charlie Brown
Congrats to Justin on his first win.

Ced,
Don't beat yourself up to badly; I too had a pair of self imposed acts of stupidity that all but ruined my race.
The Red Weasels Racing Team came to the track with a conservative setup, the battle plan, watch the race rockets scream off the track down on the turns and once they rearrange their aero packages the Weasels would slide into the lead and take the race. Well the only sliding this Weasel did was out of the draft on the uphill right-hander and into the hard wheat for error number one, this really slowed me down, I lost about 2 seconds per lap I chose not to pit and run my fuel load thinking that when I do pit I would fix the car and car chief Jerry Rig could kiss it and make it all better. It is obvious that Jerry's kisses just don't carry the weight I gave him credit for. Back on track after my service, which was long enough for me to climb out of the car and have a snack at the rotisserie chicken stand down around turn two...anyway... mind numbing error two happened when I was setting up for the brake marker on the front straight hairpin and I put the left side rubber in the dirt. When I stopped spinning the foul langue started as I called myself every name of stupid you can think of, in several different tongues. So bend and broken I ran another lap to see how bad I rearranged the corners of the Spyder, only to find I was yet another two seconds slower per lap. I made the decision to stop again fix the damage and lower my wings in the hopes that it would counter act the new box type shape I had given the car. All was fine until I broke the rears loose coming out of the backside hairpin trying to get back to the start/finish line and red lined my left side, luckily I was bullheaded enough to just finish out the race with the damage I had and not try to do anything else.
As the last couple of laps passed I was able to close in on Ced just a bit as I think it was Pat coming out of the Pits just in front of him so in my mind I could see the Collins boys battling it out hoping it would be enough for me to close in on them for the fight for position as the last few minutes were running out. Then to my advantage Ced went wide and into the wheat, this of course is what I believe he is still upset about and understandably so. Sure I took advantage and gained the spot but the lack of pressure on P6 allowed him to stretch his legs and he walked out of reach and I bring home a P7 overall and a P3 is class. I had so much hope on this race when I went wide and smashed my chance of trying to gain enough points to whittle down the points gap, well I know Ced knows the feeling of disappointment I feel about one’s own performance.
Congratulations to Justin. Oh, and I understand Post Race Tech Inspection did not find that Anchor you where suppose to be dragging behind your car…

I was so frustrated by the events of last night that I failed to mention that I'd gone with a conservative setup as well and it worked out well. Seemed like there were cars spinning all over the place, but the swan song for the Mighty Miska Pescarolo went very well on the track at least. You really do have to have enough wing in your car to be able to maneuver around unexpected obstacles or have enough grip to steer on grass as well as asphalt. I found that with the 2/5 wings, everything was fine so long as you didn't have to make any sudden moves, but if you did, the car went into ballerina mode and you were just along for the ride.

Final race report posted ...
Susan, no problem on the early wreck, those things happen sometimes. Sorry I was a little pouty after the race. The most frustrating thing is I was stuck on something over there in the weeds and the car would not move. Maybe they had some rain at Reims before hand and I was in the mud?? If that's the worst thing that happens this week, it'll be a good week.
