You're right about that, Larry. The MNRL GTP1 Toyota drivers are really, really good. I've been able to keep up with them at least in practice the last couple weeks, but I got to run a Sauber, and practice almost non-stop, to do it. Even then they are more consistent in race conditions that I am, which results in better finishes for them.
FWIW, the Toyota is a good car if you can get it balanced right. My understanding from talking with the Toyota guys is that the margin of error on setups is much less for the Toyotas than the Jags and Saubers, and that the Saubers in particular have important high speed aero advantages.

Larry,
If the track has long straights and some short stop and go corners. You want the Sauber.
If the track has medium to long straights and sweeping corners, I like the Jag better but you still may loose out at the end of the straight to the Sauber.
If it's a tight twisty track with hardly any straights. I'll take the Mazda.
You had some impressive runs in the Toyota, especially at Spa (we'll leave out the crash) I will admit in the spec race at Lemans, it was fun to drive those and was impressed with its speed.

Ya, I still feel bad about that Spa incident. Put some hurt on Brent if my memory serves me correct.
You know the funny thing is, that the Toyota feels the best to me for overall driving ability but I know it will come up short as you mention Ced. That Zen Zoltis track was a fun event but don't remember where I finished. The Toyota seemed competitive though.
I just might stay with the Toyota and take my lumps. It's only make believe, although with all the blisters on my a88 from sitting in front of this tube so much it's more real than than I think, woe ya, orrrrrrr , maybe the Sauber because I want to take the big boys on, hehe.
Havin some fun here fellas, thats all.

Yeap Larry,
Fun is all its about.
Remember in PORRS you are not stuck with one car make.
If you want to run the Toy at one track and the Saub or Jag at another you can.
Maybe that will help your decision process.

OK,
Ced's been busy.....lol.
Look for the schedule to be posted early next week along with downloads for all the tracks and the modified ini files all ready to go so you can get a jump on practicing.
There is a great mix of tracks and some new ones (Real, not fantasy) that you may not have raced on yet.
I think you will enjoy the selection this season.
The test (warmup ) race will be at willow springs and the track will be available for download as well.

Season, Tracks and INI are Posted.
The first epidsode of the season in review is done and ready to view. There will be two version for the first. The regular 320 version and a Full Screen. The FS looks great but took about 20 minutes to buffer so if you want to wait, go for it and let me know how it plays. The links should be up on the site by 9:15 PM Est Today.
I apologize for the voice over on the intro, my mixing board setting got changed and I didn't catch it before I completed the Vid run. Will be fixed on next edition.

Cool vid Ced Almost 27 minutes of most of us, really good to show anyone who asks what on-line racing is like. What was that song at the start? Kinda catchy. I never knew my "eyes" blinked like that and you also caught me house-hunting ;D. Looking forward to the next instalment Bob

Thanks Bob,
That was a song called (Short name) Liquid Sky by Primus and the second song was by Korn. I will try to get at least a lap of everyone and concentrate on the battles. It seems like most will fit into about 20 - 25 minutes. There are a couple races with some really good duels I didn't want to leave out.
The rest will be shorter as well. They won't have the intro attached only the starting lineup. I may just cut the intro and leave it as a seperate vid. I kinda like watching it myself....lol. Whadda ya think.

Schedule sure looks veerry interesting, just did some laps at estoril and you're right Ced I've never been to half of the tracks and limited time at most of the others. Looks good.

I've got a couple of questions...help a newbie out, willya? Do I need to unpack all the tracks into both the day and night track folders? And what do I do with the .ini files? Thanks in advance for your help! GlennC66

Glenn,
Your ? are always welcome.
You only need to unzip them to the TracksD folder. What I would do (cause I'm human) is unzip them into a temporary folder to make sure the track folder name gets created. Then copy and paste the folder into the TracksD folder.
Done.
The ini files need to be renamed. For example. Say the ini for Rouen says Track_Rouen.ini. Remove the _Rouen so it just says track.ini and paste it in the TracksD\Rouen folder. If you want to keep the original ini, you need to rename it first.
Remember, not all tracks have updated INI's.

Thanks Ced
I was just coming back on to say "nevermind...I figured it out!" Though, I didn't rename the ini files, and I ran some laps at Long Beach and it worked fine. Going back to rename them now.
Another question: Is it ok to find a paintjob of a real car and use that for 'mine'? Or should I paint my own?
I'd actually like to do my own, just haven't figured that one out yet...any good painting guides that show how to use templates out there?

You are more than welcome to use what ever paint scheme you wish.
I know there were some tutorials out there for painting, I'd have to look. I tried a google today and didn't find much.
If any of the PORRS drivers has a tutorial to share post it here. If not, I'll try to whip something up this weekend.

Cool. Just uploaded a Miller Jag, #67...though I'd like to change that to #66 once I figure out the painting thing.

Sure would be cool if someone (more nerdy than myself) would port over Mid-Ohio. One awesome track with a 180+mph straight. And the twisty bits will seperate the wheat from the chaff. Might be a nice place to run a Continental Race, is that even possible??
Wht about the missing track fix file??? Kind of important. And also is there a tutorial for getting all the proper software in the proper places to be able to race in the series??
