Has anyone been able to complete more than 12 laps without blowing the engine? In races against the AI, I lose the engine after 12 laps every time(clutch, header, etc..).

Kevin,
I have not run 12 laps in one sitting yet. Springs went out in pedal and brought me to a stand still, but, I had run 3 laps and the screen went black and crashed to DT. I restarted and went 5 laps and the car was sticking and shacking which made me think FPS probs but they were around 60 lowest I think and above. I went out and haven't been back as yet.
I am wondering if there is problem. Not experienced this stuttering since I have been on Cable connection so all the more reason for concern.
Hope to get back into it this weekend.

You know, my memory is shrinking like some other, well, anyway, that stuttering turned out to be something was running in the back ground. I remembered when I was getting ready for the sack. There was no reason for me to be here tonight. So delete me.

Can't say that I've run 12 laps in a row yet will probly do that this weekend. Are you hitting the rev limiter consistently? I try to stay away from the red light if possible.

I have run at least 20 laps in both jag, and sauber, with no engine probs. Of course I dont use the shifter paddles. I have enough to worry about just balancing the car without selecting gears as well. Much more difficult to drive without the "seat of the pants" sensation.
The front end hops around a bit in the tight corners (in the replay it looks like it's on hydraulics), but this is traction related. Bahrain is a pretty nice layout IMO, there are a few rough spots where the track is bumpy as all. But on the whole Bahrain seems to be relatively high grip. Surprising considering it's in the middle of a desert island.

Haven't run Bahrain yet this time. Raced there a few months ago in my other league, but I'm gonna have to re-learn the track. Should be able to get some laps in on it tonight. We'll see how it goes.

How many engine related problems does this sim have? I've blown the clutch and the headers in two sessions yesterday. I'm going to try again today and see if I can destroy the valves this time! If no one else is having this problem, my setup may be the culprit...who knows..

kjay, I haven't run this track yet.................but I don't think it depends on track bug..............I suppose it depends on your style (you mis time in changing gear for example) and setup your engine problems (wrong diff ratio)........
I will try the track on Sunday and will say my impression.........
Bye bye Fab

It's not a track bug. I just ran a 20 lap race without any problems. The failures were heat related. I usually run my front splitter at 75% and had to drop it to 50%. I'm surprised that I overlooked that part.
Thanks Kevin

Yeh man, Bahrain is a cool track it has som heartbreak corners though, for sure. Glad as all it's not like estoril. What an hideous, ghastly track that is.
Anyone want to practice Sunday night? Sounds great to me, maybe we can host a small session on our own.

To bad it didn't work out, Doc. But I discovered to my surprise that the PORRS server is running? With Estoril... Perhaps that server could be used for training events? Ced??

Excellent! Thanks Ced. So what now? Do you hand over the boss-password - with some instructions? We could then have a thread with training announcement like "Server is open"... Just being curious, but where is server located? Jan

The server is located in Indiana, USA and owned by me. It's at a Tier 1 ISP there. If someone is interested in using it for practices, respond to me at gtp@porrs.net and I'll send you the info.
