For a tight track I think everyone did well. There will be some reviews of some things and I'll post some general comments after I finish the review of the replay.

The points and Website should be updated tonight but no replay recap until I can get the start.

Qualified 5th and wound up in 9th after the T1 wreck. On lap 2 I went to wide into one of the turns and wound up in the sand so lost a few more positions back to P11. But I managed to make my way up to P5 again. I pitted on lap 18 and just managed to make into my pits for more gas and tires. Ran P5 right up until the last lap when one of the front runners must have run out of gas so I crossed the finish line in P4 with the fuel pressure at about 5 psi. Cya all at Calder Park

Totally gagged the qual by not putting in my setup so had to start 15th. Started making my way up to about 10th but kept making stupid little mistakes and we go to the back again. Finally settled into a good rythm and made some of the lost ground up. By the time I pitted I was back in 10th and happy to try for a top 10. Starting picking up the pace a little more and after the pit stop was up to 8th.

Thats OK Ced I was just whinning. My connection was hanging all night. Five times I was left in a stationary positiom while the fiels pass me by. When I was again running I was thrown agains walls, into fields, anywhere but on the track. Car got pretty damaged so went from 5th to 10th to 14th and filally I just pulled he plug for the night.

Hope I can find whats running in the background to cause this disasteeous evening. I had EnditAll setup and running but something else isn't being picked up by it.

Anyone have some ideas I would appreciate any input.

Sorry for the poor showing but it wasn't all my fault.

Qualified P4 and got off to a good start and settled in behind Rob staying in P4. Shouldn't really say that I settled in behind Rob, it was just that no matter what I tried I couldn't get past him, we ran closely together until the first pit after 18 laps, we were P2 & 3 i think at that time. Had some excellent racing!! My pit stop must have been .5 seconds (or less) better than Rob as I got out in front of him finally.

Made a few mistakes during the last half of the race and as things wound down I was P3 behind Kevin, probly by 6 seconds and it didnt look like I was gonna catch him. Then with 2-3 laps to go I hear "the leader is pitting" so now me and Kevin were goin for the win. Fab exited the pit 2 seconds behind me with 2 to go and then Kevin pitted.

So I was leading by the slight margin and thought (hoped) I could make it on fuel. Then I went wide goin on to the second last straight to start the final lap. Fab passed me for P1. He had the 2 sec gap now and I had to hope for him to make a mistake. Three quarters way thru the final lap the engine started sputtering and I was losing fuel pressure, so I tried to back off a bit to make it to the finish. Crossed the line goin about half the speed I normally would and ended up P2.

Lately, I really identify with the old adage, "catching is one thing, passing is another."
Had great battles tonite with Rob and Kevin especially, thanks for the clean racing.

Congratulations to Fab on the win last night and to the other podium finishers.
I hadn't run a GTP in a while and should have done a lot more practicing. Besides not being very good at Bahrain I had forgotten how difficult it is to see anyone in the mirror. I may have messed a couple of guys up because of that. I do keep an eye on F2 but sometimes it's just too late. To anyone I messed up I apologize......and to whoever it was that made a miraculous avoidence when I was pitting - HOLY COW, GREAT JOB! SORRY!
I had fun and hope to be a little better at the next race that I make.....certainly no match for Fab, Kevin, Brent, Rob, Dave, ClownDood :-) etc., but better than last night.

I started on the pole and 3 turns later I made a slight error and four cars roared passed me like a freight train. Fabrizio disappeared from view at that point and I feel fortunate to have held on for third.
Congrats to Fabrizio and Brent for a great race.

General question here, I know because I go to at least four road racing events every year that there is no passing at the start until AFTER the stripe. Is that the case here too?

I knew what was gonna happen when I saw the culprit blazing by everyone before the stripe. I missed all the action during the race, what a mess. Looked like a really expensive game of pool.

Also, to everyone who was patient with me last night , thank you. To the rare impatient ones who bumped me off. There will come a day, when I'm not slow anymore. A little patience now is worth a heap of on-track respect later.

Good race to everyone else though. Nice turnout, good racers. Mostly.

Off to the next track and decide whether it's Jaguar, or Sauber. Guess it doesnt matter since I'm racing in the grass mostly anyway. BTW someone owes me 40$ for grooming the sand.

I forgot to mention a couple of apologies...havent watched the race yet but I think I got together with Tom (I think it was Tom)....goin thru the tight part in the middle of a lap I was goin past Tom and then I seen him spinning in my mirror. I felt no contact but maybe there was.
And when exiting from my pit, Doc and I went side by side thru t1, we touched and he ended up going off. This was a tough one as I was exiting pit and didnt realize that he was so close.

I always try and take my time if I get the opportunity to lap someone. Depending where on the lap it happens, I will try to follow for a couple of corners until I feel I have the opportunity to attempt a pass. With tight tracks and close lap times (even if one car is 1-2 sec/lap faster, which isnt all that much) it still is tough to just blow by someone, and probly aint gonna happen.

The debate over lapping happens in every league, in all forms of racing. And I do not feel that a faster car should own the track. There were plenty of good battles for position last night and I don't expect to have everyone jump out of the way. But a little co-operation from both sides is important.

I expect lots of traffic and more tight racing at Calder. Lookin forward to it!

Tough race for me #34 STP Sauber. I punted somone accidentally on lap 3 or 4 then never got into a groove. How does racing at Calder work? After running a few laps it is tight and short. Calder will be a test for clean racing. I hope everyone keeps their cool. I apologize for any problems I caused.

I agree that there is no need for a lapped car to jump out of the way. It is the responsibility of the car making the pass to do it without incident. The driver in the car being lapped only needs to hold their line. At that point it is up to the faster driver to make the right decision in regards to passing.
This will be key at Calder as the track is tight and will require patience and car control. The long straight will provide the best passing opportunities.
