Wow, what can you say... I think that this was a case of the performance of the cars simply overwhelming the track which led to jaw-dropping cornering speeds, but also creating a situation where, if anything went wrong, it was disasterous. My apologies to James for causing contact in the first corner when I got a wheel off in the grass and slowed to keep it on the track. He simply had nowhere to go and no time to react. From the looks of the flotsam and jetsam around the track tonight, I don't think our experience was unique. I also apologize for using ALL CAPS in a message to Ced after the race. He gives us a place to play and that's the thanks he gets. I really do appreciate all he does for us. I believe with the amazing performance level of these cars, we need to focus on tracks such as the current F1 locations which lack the really high speed corners which were the norm on older tracks such as this one or Mosport, which was what I thought of the very first lap I did here. Ced said that he's testing tracks for the upcoming season and I volunteer my services to test as well. Congrats to Terry and to all those who survived Death Race Goodwood.

Well It was a balls out track. I was good for a while until I made a slight bobble and backed it into the wall hard and spent a good deal of time in the pits. This track would be a blast if it was about 20 feet wider. The narrowness of the track may have made vision difficult and prime passing hard to accomplish.
As Paul mentioned, the performance of the cars on this track left no margin for error.
I hope everyone had a good time with the experience and has no objection to not including this race in the Championship. If you do, please send me and email at snowced@aol.com.
Brent, then Terry ran exceptional races. That's the hard part of this job. Maybe I could do a half points for this race.
Your feedback is welcomed.

I don't know who I got caught up with going into the last section of the track, I was just pushing and I guess hoping people infront of me because I screwed up on the restart going into the first nasty turn. From there all down hill, I think the time I did synchronized spins was more of a racing thing as there was no contact, but the one down the front stretch was all me forcing the issue so yea, I effed that one up not whoever it was at all. If I had a replay, which didn't save for some reason, I'd look at it again but I think it was my fault. If I could just voice my opinion on the track...this track is more suited to small cars/slower cars, not these. I would recommend that these 1/sub minute lap tracks are not really good for these cars because there simply is no place to pass. Add the fact that there was ice dyed green all over the place made it worse. I don't know how I barely tap the gas on it and I'm doing a Zanardi impersonation. I know it's my first race in a while here but I couldn't stop but think that since I first loaded the track. Congrats to who won.

The no light thing to start the race threw me so I was glad for the re-start. Qualified P3 and got up to P2 past Justin in the first lap or two. Sandy pulled a bit of a margin -3.5 seconds- but then the gap seemed to stabilize until he had a bit of a spin and I took the point. Had a great first stint with no offs and pitted at the halfway mark. Came out P1 in front of Terry by just 2.5 seconds (had been 15 sec or so) ....figured he took no tires?? Had a couple of hairy moments as I dropped the tires on the dirt while getting them up to temperature...but nothing too serious. I was able to pull a gap on Terry and then the creen freeze came and I was done. Fun while it lasted.

Great report Jim, as always! I don't know if Alex was able to hear my apology for getting into him late in the race, so I'll repeat it here. Totally my fault Alex. Was chasing Terry and got greedy. Great drive last night Terry! SandyR

Only had three real incidents, one was taking the second to last corner too quick and skimming the wall, second was coming off of the second to last corner and suddenly finding Jim sideways in the road and unable to avoid him (sorry Jim) and then finding the wall again on the same corner Qualified pretty well, kind of knew that it was going to be a close thing all the way with leadsled, Terry, myself and Paul putting up times so close together that it almost guaranteed a fight from the start. I made a hash up of one of the corners and went from 4th to 6th, somehow made my way to 5th, then by the time of the pitstop for a full tank and praying the tires held on long enough to finish I was on my way out again. After that I just made sure I was consistent and make as much room as possible between myself and anyone else chasing me down, then I noticed that i was suddenly in 3rd, but seeing as sandy was long gone, I had no chance of catching up. Congrats to Terry and Sandy for the podium spots, and to everyone else for even braving this course, it wiped out a few racers, and I saw Sandy have a detour in the green stuff (don't think I have ever seen Sandy have an off track excursion before ), so I could have 3rd place (would have been provisional 2nd) for a couple of laps. And I don't know what happened to Brent but it would have been a monumental win, since you lapped me at least twice and was flying before whatever happened to you.

Thank you, Sandy ...
Gary, I'm not sure our collision was your fault. At the time I saw cars coming, thought about backing off into the grass but then made the ill-fated decision I could get going before you arrived. Wrong. Had I shown a little more patience (it ain't like I was going to any podium) and gotten the hell out of the way, that probably wouldn't have happened.

Hi Sandy
No problem, just a race incident. Maybe i was driving slower than usual due to weird images in my monitor. By the way, great race for me, after beeing 16th in first lap i finished 4th, despite of a 8 secs freeze and weird images after it. Once again, congrats for the podium guys and specially for Terry, my team mate.
Alex
