A couple of months ago, quite by accident, I came across the opening race of the MotoGP 2009 season. It had been postponed from the previous day due to massive rains in Qatar. So lucky for me. Of course I have seen motorcycles screaming across the tarmac but I never paid that close attention, too busy watching auto racing I guess. But this stuff is Brilliant...it's a Cracker (to quote the Brits) for sure. It really is quite incredible to see the riders laying these monsters down at an angle of 62 degrees to get thru a 100 mph corner. I'm no biker but this is amazing stuff and brilliant racing too. If you want some exciting action...check this stuff out.

got hooked on moto gp and world superbike coverage a year ago--different animal for sure but given the right announcers, it's exhilirating to watch lap after lap battles between rossi and stoner at laguna or spies and haga in superbike at assen. got a firsthand view of the wsb's at miller last w'end. amazing acceleration and lean angles combined w/ crazy late braking--very exciting sport!
cheers, greg

Will have to try and check out the superbikes. Would it be fair to consider MotoGP as the Formula 1 of bikes or would that go to WSB...or maybe that comparison is unfair?

as far as the ladder of competition, moto gp would be the f1 of the bike world and wsb the next rung down, along with whatever the ama/daytona deal has cooked up--comparable to f1 vs. cart & indycar.

Oh man, you guys have been missing out on some of the best racing around. Especially with the 250 class. Not the Rossi's, Capirossi's, Stoner's or Lorenzo's. But good as well.
Gp has been a great battle so far this season as Rossi isn't running away with it. But you gotta love THE DOCTOR ;D

You know I have been asking myself recently..."Why can't I get into Nascar lately?" Well, Catalunya is your answer. That is real racing IMHO. When you sit in front of the screen giggling out loud, not using your chair anymore, and shouting at the riders/drivers...you know you've found it.
Yes Virginia, there is some darn fine racing out there....and it turns left, right and sometime only has two wheels!!! hehe
