First off, my apologies for the Pace Car. That never happened in my testing. But on a side not. Always remember the pace car is invisible. You don't need to alter your line. Even though I avoided it most of the time, twice I went through it at an apex to a corner.
Mexico - Disappointing for me. Had a good setup offline that really didn't work online. Settles for not Q and started 8th because of others not Q'ing. Was going good into 1st essess and was following traffic flow and had to slow and Little more and Brent had a good run on the inside. I guess he wasn't expecting anyone to be there...he he.
That started the downfall. Stupid self spins avoiding that stupid curb kept me from getting back up with the pack. Had fun with the leaders when the lapped me. So I was able to tell where they were betting me.
I'll take the 7th with a smile.

Qualified 2nd on the grid, and tucked in behind Fab at the start for the first couple of laps until we came upon the pace car coming out of the last corner. I've never had this happen to me before and wasn't quite sure what to do so I attempted to miss it by going one way hoping Fab would go the other but we wound up driving into each other, and I think Fab got the worst of it, after that I tried to run clean laps. I was coming up on Brent about 3/4's of the way through the race and really miss judged my braking, this caused me to drive into the back of Brent spinning him out and causing some damage to my car and I'm sure Brent's as well. I'm really sorry Brent, I had one major brain fart there for sure. My lap times were slower after that and Rob was catching me about a second a lap. He was just over 2 seconds behind me with two to go when I spun coming out of turn 3 and he got by me for the win. You were running some really good times Rob and congrats on the win.

What a wild night.
Got onto the server and for the first 10 laps of practice, I could not get the car around the hairpin without tagging the wall. No matter what I tried... early entry, late entry, normal entry, whatever. Been having some problems with my wheel calibration, and I thought it was that. Finally turned the steering ratio much lower than I wanted it, and was finally able to get through the hairpin normally by the end of practice. I had it set pretty high thinkin I'd want good feel through the esses and hairpin and such.
Qualified P4... satisfied with that. Ran some good laps at the begining and stayed in the P4 to P5 range. Then, I had my own run-in with the Pace Car... not knowing whether I could drive through it or not, I tried to miss it, but clipped the evil curb two corners after the hairpin. Dropped to about 16-18 seconds off the lead.
Mid-race was very good. Moved up to second but was still about that 18 seconds off Dave. Nomial pit stop, including a wheel recalibration. Ugh.
Got into the last 10 laps or so, and saw that Dave's lead was about 7 seconds... now I know it was due to Dave and Brent's incident. Thinking Dave may be trouble, I pushed pretty hard, finally dipping into the 25s. I guess I ran a 24.9 late in the going... didn't even hear the spotter report that one.
Got it to 2 seconds with two to go, and I though I still might bridge the gap over the last couple. Then I see Dave loop it off T3 and I drive by. Would've rather raced you for the win there Dave... you drove a heckuva good race.
So, I feel fortunate to ge the win tonight... I definately benefitted from some others' misfortunes, but that's racing I guess. Looking forward to next race!!

Had a bit of a tough one at Mexico. First, screwed up qualifying as I thought I had finished qualifying and hit F1 to see my lap time as I slowed after the finish line. Either my lap didnt register or more likely...I had only done my out lap....was weird and I have never done that before..but promise I wont do it again ;-)
Sorry to Ced...I thought you were on the throttle as we exited the left hander but I guess not and bumped you from behind. Had a few good laps after that and was in the top 5. Battled with Jan too, you had a good run, congrats on your finish. Then still pretty early, I had passed Fab down the front stretch and my braking point musta been a little sooner than his and he got into me at quite high speed....I ended up on the wrong side of the fence in turn 1.
Also, later in the race had the incident with Dave as he mentioned and a couple self spins plus screwed up my pit stop as I couldnt get straightened into the box.
All in all, not the prettiest of races for me but happy with a top5. Congarst to the podium, you guys were fast for sure.

After two laps my car was damaged and slower in the front straight owing to an accident with Dave in last turn before S/F line...........that pace car should not be there hehehe................Very very sorry Brent.........I gave room when you overtook me at the end of the straight and next laps I tried to catch you.............yes, my braking point was later than yours but I had to give you room .........sorry again..........after few laps I retired my car because I was annoyed about that Bye bye Fab

The coolest guy on track *must* have been the pacecar-driver. Totally unaffected by the drivers roaring past him left and right, he simply kept cruising round the track in his steady speed... First half of my race was quite busy, especially after I on lap 6 had a spin going into fast s'es that send me to the back of the (way to small) field. Had a good run until pitstop lap 16, that I screwed up. "Car too far to the left", "Car to far ahead" etc. Took forever, sigh. Last part of race was a bit lonely, tried with no luck to "catch" Rob and kept pulling away from car behind, so my P3 was so safe, I even had time to test an alternative way to negotiate first hairpin. I think this is the first race, where I haven't been lapped by raceleaders, that's to me a small victory in it self ;D See you at Rouen. Jan

What an event! So far this was my favorite track. Probably for 2 reasons, one being the help that Brent gave me and the other being that I practiced more than usual. Unfortunately, Friday night during our TPTCC race, that I really expected to do well in, (B Groupie, not an alien) my darn MOMO wheel broke a part in the shifter. It would still shift but sometimes it would change 2 gears instead of one. Messed me up big time and I had a terrible night. At that point I figured I'd miss Mexico because I didn't think I'd get another one until my birthday next Friday. After whining and mopeing around the house FordDudette "made" me go get a new one. (Thank you, dear) It's a Logitech Driving Force Pro and has a different feel than the old MOMO, especially the force feedback....it's strong! I'm not yet fully used to it but at least it got me through Mexico. I'm sure I'm going to like it better than the MOMO in a short time.
Now....the important stuff. You guys are something! In preparing for Mexico I watched the Achim Trensz replay of his 1:26.5 lap. Of course I'm like, "Holy cow, how does he do it?" After much practice I get to doing some laps in the low 1:27s and am happy as a pig in whatever. Race day comes and several of you guys blister his time! I'm impressed!!
Congratulations to Rob on his win.....good job.
Can't make the next race....state bowling tournament so I'll be looking for the new schedule. Rouen is the last one scheduled right now, isn't it?

Hey Tom,
Regarding the time we turned last night in comparison to Achim's. The PORRS league generally runs higher grip settings than normal... Ced's discretion as head honcho of course. Of course, higher grip will yield better lap times. I know for a fact that I can't get close to Achim if using the same track ini. To get a sense of how much grip we had last night, check your replay (if you have it) of me trying to do doughnuts on the front straight. I could spin the tires but found it difficult to break the rear end into a slide.
Note to Ced... not complaining at all about grip levels... grip is good. Doesn't really matter what we run as long as everyone has to deal with the same ini!!

INI - I guess my biggest reasoning for the INI changes is from going to all the IMSA - GTP races I did in the 80's. Seeing how the cars actually negotiated turns back then. The original Redline GTP release had that feel and you really didn't need to make many ini changes at all. Then the "FIRST' F'd" version was released and you could tell the difference. So that's my main reason for trying to get them back close to what I remember and how the orig release was.

Jan..Standings...Cough Cough...lol.
Unfortunately Monday is usually the earliest I have to work on the site. I run another league right after we finish and by the time I'm done with that I eat dinner and go to bed because I have to get up at 5:00 ;D
So Monday around 11:00 PM est is when I start updating the site. So that's why it seems like it's 2 days for most of you guys...lol.

I'm still impressed.....and I like the idea of more grip. Helps us setup challenged types.
Good luck to everyone at Rouen.....I'm sorry I can't make it because it's a lot of fun racing with you guys and I look forward to the next season.....which I hope isn't far off. ;-)
