I need to check and make sure all is well. I got on the SSCAE server last night without problems for an hour and a half. Let em know. I would prefer 1.5 hours 2 is a little much for me.

Hi Guys,
Just got out of a meeting and was informed that I have to oversee our Human Resources Department move this weekend so I am out for Saturday. Hopefully I can get home in time on Sunday. Rob I may need you just to make sure everything starts ok.
So Sorry guys

OK... Ced's out.
I can still do two stints, and am willing to do two using either schedule. If we do 4 driver changes, someone else will have to take a second 1.5 hour shift. I can take the start regardless.
Ced, let me know if you need anything for Sunday night, although I'll only make it through Race 1 before shifting over to CARS.

Kev,
I'm fine with that schedule. Although we should remember to adjust the time of the driver switches if the race doesn't start exactly at 10:30 ET. A lot of these races tend to start about 10-15 minutes late, especially if we run a full pace lap.
Also, the last stint will likely be more than an hour, as the race is still run by a set number of laps. If the admins predicted too quick a pace, the actual race may go up to a half hour extra. That happened a lot in WOSEC.
Finally, I got some more practice on the server last night... Harrison was there for a few minutes as well. Still in the 49s, but getting the car a bit more stable. My player file is fine... used the player file that Kev emailed, substituting my controller settings. So, I'm good to go.
I have a GTP race tonight, but if anyone would like to do a couple quick discos and test Ventrilo connections before 8:30 PM ET I would be interested in doing that.

Also, just checked the SSCA site... they've updated the RA race line, and have confirmed that 4 discos will be required. So, we'll have to run Kev's most recently posted schedule, or something similar.

Schedule looks good. I need to test everyhting so I will be available to test before 8:30 est. Rob will you e-mail a replay of a 1:49 in the Jag. I'm about 3-4 secs slower. Thanks a lot. I can drive another stint if needed. Let's play it by ear and see if the race runs long. Did y'all notice in the rules that if you go off and re-enter the track cutting someone off it's a dis-qualification. Also what is the F2 function Darin said to use before re-entry?? I think this is going to be a hell of a race.

Will do Harrison... will send you a replay tonight... can't do it now from work of course. Are you OK on setup?
Regarding the F2 key... I don't know if you use this funtion currently. If you don't, when you hit the F2 key on your keyboard while driving, you will get a readout (bottom right on the screen) of the several cars ahead of you on track, and the several cars behind you on track, as well as the number of seconds they are away from you... it looks something like...
Driver A 3.5 Driver B 2.0 Driver C 1.6 Driver D 0.8 Harrison Nolan --- Driver E -0.5 Driver F -2.0 Driver G -3.8
I think what Darrin is saying is that, if you spin, make sure to look at the F2 window and only re-enter the track when you have sufficient time to do so... good rule of thumb is AT LEAST 5 seconds gap to car behind.
In this type of racing, do not worry too much about getting going immediately when recovering from a spin. Please, everyone, do so cautiously!! Take your time and re-enter safely!! We'll have plenty of time to make it up on the track if we spin. You'll do more damage to our car and others if you're impatient about getting going again... not to mention the possibility of getting DQed.

The short of it, Ced, is that we didn't finish.
You can read the account of my start and first stint in the Race Day Chat thread. To summarize, I qualified the car P8 out of 30 and was running P6 at the end of my 1.5 hour run.
Kevin got in next and was running well... laps in the 49s... and recovering the laps and positions lost due to the driver switch (I think we still need to work on getting better at driver switches). About a third through his stint, the motor blew... o the lovely random failures of this game.
We tried doing multiple driver swaps to see if we might get lucky and have the problem repaired. I told the guys before the race that you can get lucky with car damage if you keep swapping out the driver... sometimes the car can be magically repaired. But we had no luck in that regard. After about 20 minutes or more of trying to do driver swaps, we retired the car.
We're getting close to this as a team, and I know we would've had a great finish if not for the random failure.
Till the next race then... BTW... Harrison, if you read this, the next WOSEC race is at Brands Hatch on September 30.
