Mighty Reptile Defeated by Bookcase
Two more great races at Goldenport and congrats to Jeff and Tim for their overall wins and to Greg for the GT2 win in the second race. I didn't know this track was so tough on tires but despite not pushing too hard in the first race, I had three tires in the red at the end. In the second race, Greg's Lizard Art Car was pushing me to the extreme -- 27 laps with us never separated by more than 1.5 seconds -- and I just drove the tires right off the car, finally spinning when I got a wheel completely inside the curb in T1 trying to make the track as wide as possible.
Then the real comedy began. The next lap, I was trying to hold off Jeff and when I got off the gas at the end of the front straight, the throttle stayed floored. I'd pushed the pedals slightly forward and the gas had gotten stuck under one of the shelves of the bookcase that the monitor sits on.
"Golly gosh shucky darn," I said or something along those lines. Straight off the end, through the gravel and into the wall. Flat tire, busted radiator but you can't stop the Lizard that easily and managed to make it to the finish in a pall of radiator and tire smoke.
Great fun. We need to make an annual visit to this track...

What a hoot! Race one, I Weaseled my way to mid pack went wide just before the jink and when I reentered I came over the Joey Chittwood Curb causing my car to do a nose stand pirouette and come crashing down to a mess pulled into the pit and engine expired as the damage was repaired, and all of this on Lap 1.
Race two. A little better but with only a few minutes left something strange happened, it was like the car, system, glitch, burp whatever it was my controller went wacko my car throttle went wide open no steering no control at all, the car charged into the kitty litter in the last turn and blew the engine. Head Weasel is not having a lot of fun with this MOD.

You need to turn off the engine when you pit or it will overheat and expire.

Congrats to Leadsled on his win in the second race. Thanks to Paul for the Porker setup for the second race. I hadn't had a chance to try the car out before the race but was surprised at how much fun I had driving it. I'll Jeffyize it a little bit and try it again! Goldenport was a lot of fun; more than I remember it from before. Good choice and on to Oulton we go.

James,
I would check your USB connection. I was having the same issue with the onboard USB and when I put in a USB 2.0 card, my controller issues went away.

I was having some fun in the second race (for about half a lap...lol). Was in the battle with Greg and Paul and for some reason cut the track short in one corner and I wasn't the same after that . Another great race and congrats to Jeff and Pat. Would have been interesting if Jeff had stayed in the DB
