Hi Guys,
In hind sight, maybe this track should have been removed. It would have caused a lot less confusion.
But always keep in mind that unless I post something saying the track has been updated. Alwasy go with the downloaded track.
The problem I have is the server location. I have to rely on the guys oncall at the ISP to get in and reboot the server if I have a problem. Sometime they aren't the most timely. Like what happened today.
If the don't reboot, I have no way of killing the server because to set it up in a loop for practice is different than me logging on to it for a race setup.
So I aplogize for today and the shortened race.

No sweat Ced. It's all part of life and if the worst things that go wrong for any of us are in a sim race we should consider ourselves lucky.
I make it a point to NOT mess with anything in PORRS or TPTCC unless the admins say so. To this point that thinking has kept me out of some problems that otherwise might have messed me up.
Thanks for running the league!

I thought we had 15 minutes to racestart, Ced. Otherwise I wouldn't have called you on the server! Was not aware of causing you to delay the race. Terrible sorry to all for that!
Then I don't see why you have to apologise for anything, Ced? And I don't see you having any problems either.
Have to say first, that I still find it amazing and most generous that the trackmaker himself took the time to help us get rid of a flaw, that potentially could ruin the race for any of us. In the readme Ryan urge people to report bugs, so friday I mailed him with a description, said "Thank you" and told him "we race there Sunday!" - and he fixed it immidiatly! What a fine gesture to the league!
That we're not able to have immidiatly or direct control over the server, I really don't see as a problem. It would of course be nice, but I'm more than happy (and humbled) we have a server at all!
So the only "problem" I saw - was someone accidently loosing their original Tally... Like me.
Jan
I don't understand what ”mess with things” and ”confusion”?

I don't see why you have to apologise for anything, Ced? I quote Jan ..................and thanks again for your time and efforts to running this league As regards my race ....................It was very strange and chaotic...............On starting before S/F line my spotter tell me to slow down and L. Nerell passed me.............I was troubled that he could receive BF.............so that in the same lap L. Nerell is in first place but on entering in the oval he spins in front of me, I do my best to avoid him but we have a light contact which involve Kevin........I am sorry All the rest of the race I am wary in the chicane and my pace is high.................BUT on last lap in P1 while I was entering in the oval a driver in front of me spins so that I slow down and pass him safe on the right but he hit me and in the same time my PC freeze ant I am disconnect See you next race Bye bye Fab

Sorry to see your race end like that Fab. As I crossed the finish line, I was surprised to hear my spotter say "You won" as I thought I was in a heated battle for P2 with Rob and Smokey. It certainly was a great finish with me, Rob and Smokey within .47 of each other. Started P10 after a spin during qualifying, but after others spun on early laps I was in top 3-4 soon after. Good racin with Smokey on several occasions, he was as quick or quicker than me everywhere except coming onto the banking and into the chicane. That was my only hope and managed on two occasions to get by him in this part of the track. Pretty late in the race I dropped back to P6 after a spin and figured my shot at a podium was over. Worked my way back up and got past Smokey for P2. Then on last lap just a small lead over Rob and Smokey and both of them drafted on the oval to almost catch me. Great finish as we all crossed the line less than half a second apart and all went smashing into the barriers at turn 1.
Thanks for the great and clean racing to Smokey, Rob, Tom, Dave and others.

Ya, that was a crazy one to be sure. As far as the track anomoly, I had no problem with it during the race, although I hit it a couple times in offline practice.
I balled up Qual, which resulting in me starting around P9 or so. Start was fine until I got to the infield / oval transition. When I saw the big accident, I spun to avoid. Then I saw Kev on his side and tried to tap him to get him going again, since I was stopped anyway. Me and Loren (I think) finally got him over and off I went, about a minute down to Fab but with no damage.
Just tried to run good laps for the duration... was moving up through the field but a couple slides off the pavement resulted in giving back time I had made.
Amazingly, by the end of the race, I had caught up to Brent and Smokey with like 2 to go. I was hoping I could get at least one of them by the end. On the last lap, coming onto the back straight, I got by Smokey when he slipped up the banking. Then, at the chicane, I saw the red message that Fab had discoed... so I knew it was the three of us for the win. I drafted Brent all the way to the line but wound up 0.2 short. I guess Smokey was another 0.2 off me and coming fast.
I was LMAO for many minute after cuz none of us hit the brakes coming to the line... Brent and I ended up smashing the tire barrier in about the same place, and Smokey a little further up track... all three totaled!! Oh the things we do for a win!!
Can't wait till our next run.

My first race of the season started out bad and by the end of the race was even worse. I hit the "BUG" in the chicane during my qualifying lap and totaled my car so started the race dead last. I worked my way through the field and by the middle of the race I was in P2. On lap 16 I believe I lost it coming onto the banking and hit the top gaurd rail and flipped over a few times. Smokey (I think) got by me for P2 but I managed to pass him again for position into T1. My car was handling terrible and I had lost a good 10 mph top end, I was now in P1 because of Fab's disco and on lap 17 the car just went squirrly and I losts it big time braking into T1 and pretty well totaled my car so I called it a day.
Congrats to podium peep's

As regards my race ....................It was very strange and chaotic...............On starting before S/F line my spotter tell me to slow down and L. Nerell passed me.............I was troubled that he could receive BF.............so that in the same lap L. Nerell is in first place but on entering in the oval he spins in front of me, I do my best to avoid him but we have a light contact which involve Kevin........I am sorry I have a slightly different view of this. At the start I was hanging back, maybe a bit too much? I guess that is why your spotter was telling you to wait for me. So I'm hanging back and then we get the green flag, I hit the gas and I am now in the lead which surprised me. "Ok" I'm thinking "this probably won't last, let's see if I can keep the lead for at least the first lap." So through the infield everything is fine, just taking it easy on cold tire, until I get to the turn coming onto the banking where I locked up my cold tires and slow down more then I intended. I thought Fab will probably fly by me now on my inside I'll just try to catch his draft and stay with him as long as I can. But instead I get hit from behind and I start to spin, then I get hit again and again, in total I was hit by four different people. I'm not blaming anyone as I don't think it was at all intentional, just a racing incident, one that sucked for all involved. So after I stop spinning I come off the banking and see Kev on his side, so I go over to assist, it's the least I can do I thought since its my fault he's in that position. So then I limp back to the pits for repairs. Four minutes later I'm on my way again, several laps down and about 40 mph slower then normal. So the rest of my race is just trying to stay out of everyone's way which was pretty much what happened until the last lap when someone slammed into me at the first corner sending me into the wall. I guess my race ended the way it started. ;D

I looked at the incident you referred to Loren and you can look at it from a bunch of sides. First thing I saw was you were 40 mph down on speed so the closing rate would have been more than Gary expected. I'm not excusing Gary but I can see where this incident could have happened because of this.
I would normally say something like this in an email but I wanted it to be open. No One at Fault Here...We have some new drivers to the league, some I've raced with before and some I have not. We are still getting to know each other so incidents like this may happen. By the midway point of last season these types of things were unheard of because of the quality and learning ability of the drivers in PORRS. So give it a few more races till we get accustomed to each other and I am sure it will be the good quality of racing you want....and should expect from PORRS.
My ear is always open so if you want to vent, make a suggestion or just shoot the breeze....email me.

Good Catch Fab,
Let me verify that and get back to you. While I am still using the same program, it is on a different PC and I may not have set the parameters exactly the same as last season.
Thanks
