This was the first race in a while where I was really competitive in my class. For a change I was racing door to door with the competition. I wasn't running all alone like I usually do. In the first race I was able to follow Greds but never was able to pass him.
In the second race I actually got by both Greds and Greg and had first place in "B" until coming on the front straight I got a little sideways and Haley got by me. I chased him for many laps. At times I was right on his bumper but couldn't get by. Running out of time I finally overdid it and ran off the track and allowed Haley to pull away.
But it was the most enjoyable races I've had for a long time. Two seconds in class was really good for me. I know that Greds, Haley and Bowders are the cream of the "B" class so it is an honor to race that close with them.
I also want to thank Susan for showing extreme sportsmanship in letting me by. Believe me she was more than a handful to get by unless she allowed it.
I was impressed by how close everyone was.
I'm looking forward to the GT race. Oran Park turned out to be a really good track for online racing. And it made both classes very close to each other.
My congrats to both Paul Hamilton and Sandy Robinson for their outstanding performance.

Next week is Adelaide for the LMPs. But I agree that this would make a good GT race.
My race report is pretty brief -- Terry had bad luck and I didn't. In the first race he had a couple spins that allowed me to finish second to Sandy a fraction of a second ahead of him. One more lap and the results would have been different. In the second race he got a massive launch off the Killer Curb that effectively took him out of contention despite being clearly the fastest car. Tom gave me a major scare at the end when he cut my margin from nine seconds to about two as even the hard tires I'd used in the second heat went away.

He Hee....launched is right! All my troubles at Oran Park were my own doing.....bad day, I guess. Anyway, I enjoyed the driving, and challenging Paul at the end of Heat 1 was a blast. Fast and clean.
Thanks to everybody I had to pass in heat 2 after my pitstop, too....very polite and straight-forward.
Adelaide could be fun....those really tight right-handers with all the kerbs are a bear!

ditto that bob--very nice racing!
race 1 i played it too conservative and made a mistake watching my mirrors early on and missing an apex. straddled the kerbing and spun into the wall--spent the rest of the race trying too hard to reel bob back in (see below), spinning a couple more times.. congrats gary, great pace.
race 2 got the jump on jb with gary, but got concerned when that red p2 spyder got ever larger in my mirrors. i had so much trouble reeling him in the first time i had to do everything i could to stay out front. got into susan a little when bob made his move on the inside of t3--sorry about the bump susan. was ready to stay close but settle for 2nd in class when he got loose and we swapped positions. strung together clean laps and stayed in front until the flag, bob waiting for me to bobble.. very exciting!
congrats sandy and paul, greg miska #78

It was a tangle in both races, if it wasn't James chasing me, it was Bob, the first race went well, I managed to get one of my good starts off the line and make it past James down the inside of the first turn, I was trying to chase down Greg, but he was mixing it with the P1's and was getting away.
Then I had James breathing down my neck and make a decent pass on a tricky section, he was on his way into the distance, and I started noticing a dot in my mirror getting ever so larger, and my tires were off into the yellow, so one slightly aggressive blip of the throttle would allow Bob through, then I noticed I was P6, and I saw a flash of a weasel in the grass, and I'm not sure were but Greg had a problem, but Bob was still getting closer, fortunately the flag was waved, and I made 1st in class stick.
Race 2, was a different story, I switched to the hard compound tires, and I was being sandwiched in between a Greg and Bob battle, my car decided to fish tail at the section just after the bridge, and I had pretty much lost sight of Greg and Bob at that point, they were almost half a lap ahead by the end of the race, and James was starting to creep up closer.
Just awesome racing all round, Bob had a fast setup that I just wouldn't have been able to do much of anything about.
