I love this track but I hate how it was modded. I hate when race time happens and you do stuff you never do in practice...double ugggghh. If you screw up and end up over the fence you are screwed 8 out of 10 times depending on where you are. I tried to figure out a way to rejoin the second time but no go and overheated the engine. Ugggg. Sidelined and watched some good battles.
Good Race All.

Was I the only one who had weird fuel usage during the race. At first, it consistently used 3 gallons a lap but then it started using a lot less once the tank got below about 20 gallons. Anyway, started on full tanks hoping for a no-stopper but the extra weight turned the Cooper into a complete slug. Fell back to 8th or 9th on the first lap and everybody just pulled away -- no mistakes, just slow. Didn't seem to bother Greg, though. He must have NOS hidden in the rollbar or something. Gained a few spots through attrition and the car got better as the fuel burned off. At the end of the race I managed a 3.15.5, which was a full two seconds better than anything I'd done in practice. Unfortunately, it still wasn't quick enough as Bob maintained the gap. On the final lap, he had a minor bobble which allowed me to catch up down that downhill straght to where Jean-Pierre crashed in Grand Prix. Passed him a turn later and stayed in front for about two more turns but then he just flew by heading into that 3rd gear left. Got close at La Source but Bob was just quick enough to nip me by about 0.15 seconds at the line for 4th place. We've got to do something about those dull finishes... Congrats to Terry for the win and Greg for second. I'll juggle the numbers and see if we can tighten the field a little better next time.

Red Weasel Racing Reports
Once again the bright White and Yellow of the Red Weasel Racing Teams does its best to show the team colors on the podium but it was not to be. After what can only be described as a valiant attempt to qualify in the top few the Weasels were relegated to the back of the pack as the cars took to the grid.
Surprising the start went off well and even with only a few close calls it looked like we were off well and the chase was on. It was obvious now the Coopers were not going to be a match for the balance of cars on the Track. Bob’s Ferrari was on the Head Weasel almost as tight as his driving suit, close hot racing as we went toe to toe for P4, Bob had the advantage as we climbed the hill going into the finial turn, and with a little out breaking it was my plan to turn in under the flashy red Ferrari and reclaim the spot. But the plan did not execute as expected, had a little contact and the number 92 went donut making and ended up loosing a couple of spots before I could get the car righted and pointed down hill and off to resume my chase.
Miss Susan had a steaming time playing catch up for most of the race after a wild ride off the fast smooth black racing surface and attempting to use the green bumpy less traction providing racing area for a few seconds.
Both Weasels found the Coopers to be lacking for this outing and was not able to close back in once a mistake was made. But will continue to evaluate the car and work on the performance of the drivers for the next outing.
Congratulations to the podiums for a well run race.
James Head Weasel

I got a decent but not great start; made sure to leave room around me just in case I couldn't see somebody......followed Sandy and Brent through most of the 1st lap until Brent crashed. Then pursued Sandy and we ended up in an epic slip-streaming battle; he was quicker in the first section and I was quicker in the last section, so we were backing and forthing until he pitted (!?!). After that I drove a little more carefully and watched the gap to Greg----all in all, a fun event.

Who knew you could make it thru the whole race without pitting. Oh well, live and learn.
I had a blast racing with Terry. LIke he said I was better in some places he was better in others. Let's hope next week will be just as much fun.
