Great opening race to the season, I was worried my setup was not going to work out, seeing the times Rick and a few others were putting up in practice, not sure what happened but before my stop I was fighting with Greg and James over 10th-13th (sorry about the contact Greg, I may have been a little hopeful on my move down the back straight), and then I made my stop around lap 17, hoping that my concentration wouldn't be thrown off if I stopped in the dark.
It seemed to pay off as I made my way up to 7th and was closing on Rick, maybe things would have been different if I had avoided 32 seconds of repair work, but I just couldn't get past him.
Great race by all, couldn't believe my setup worked really well in the dark section of the race, and it looked like everyone was having one heck of a fight for position, this season will surely be the best one we have had yet:)

Garbage night for me. Okay qual session and decent start the first time, but something went screwy with my wheel during that restart. Went to turn in for turn 1 the second time and it was like turning a sponge. Tried to drive trough it but couldn't hold a proper line so I parked it.
Congrats to the winners.

That was great fun. Road Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks and these cars handle great on it. I have to say the racers in this league are super clean competitors. I ran lots of laps here trying to do a setup as MNRL is a fixed setup league. I really did not stray too far from the default and it seemed to work. I look forward to the next race.

Was a fun way to start the season. I could run good in practice but I knew my heavy fuel load would slow me down in the first part of the race. Ran clean though, my fuel calculation was spot on and with no damage I had a nice clean pit, but knew my tires would be a little trashy in the end. Man it got dark hehe definately added another sec or 2 to my times. Great battle in the end Gary, Thanks for keeping it as clean as you could and still battle for the position. If the straight would have been another 10 feet or so you might have made the pass glad I did not have too hold you off any more laps as I doubt I had any tires left to do it. Thanks for the room on passing everyone ;D Congrats Sandy and Scott for their Class wins. Looking forward to a Great season of racing, cya on track...........Rick

Red Weasel Racing Reports
Race Line: Road Atlanta
The Red Weasel Racing Team rolled into Braselton with anticipation of a great race, after the pre-race team meeting we were positive we would dominate the GT class, of course the biggest drawback is we are driving P2 cars.
Mister Jerry Rigg had his hands full trying to get some speed out of the Red Weasel Racing Porsche RS Spyders and the integration of the new team members into the garage area.
Practice went well, as the Weasels ran nose to tail to assist in the development of a stable setup, focusing on drivability over out and out speed. During the open practice sessions it looked like the Red Weasel’s Porsches were going to be mid-pack runners and the team was cheerful with the prospect of solid finishes. Qualifying came around and the team was celebrating to see the Head Weasel had posted a time just a few thousands of a seconds off of the P2 poll.
Yea, this was going to be a race. The cars were called to the grid and it was obvious that the starter was saving space by placing twenty cars in a space meant for ten, even with a packed grid, we would take two to get under way. With a roar of thousands of horses straining for the gate we were off, a cloud of smoke, the scream of tires, and the flash of polished and shining body work of the cars flashing past the starter set the new PORRS season officially open.
The Head Weasel suffered a unique mistake has he climbed the curb out of T7, and the car was sent wildly across track and into the inner wall denting the left side of the number 92 Weasel ride. Granted the view of the field zooming past was spectacular to see, albeit it was a view I would have gladly have traded to keep it all in my rear view mirrors. As the Weasel Wench flashed past I could swear I heard her laughing with out keying the radio. I rejoined the fray somewhere between P18 and Oh’ d**n’it! It was going to long hour.
The Head Weasel’s OTE (Off Track Excursion) was soon joined by the Weasel Wench’s OTE, but once that happened she would fight for control of the black ribbon for the rest of the event.
The Pit Crew did their best as the Team cars pitted and serviced; tires, fuel, and several rolls of duct tape later the Weasels were on the move. The Head Weasel pulled out of the Pits and called back on the Team radio asking if someone had plugged a toaster in the circuit for the lights and tripped the breaker, it was dark. Darkness was on us, and clock was winding down.
At the line … Well, we finished and we send our Congratulations to Sandy and Scott for their Class wins. Great racing out there, Yea, it looks like it is going to be another great season.

After a lengthy layoff, it looks like I may be back. Hoepfuly my pc holds up and wont be booting me from races anymore. The time off has taken a toll though and will take a little time to get back into the swing of things re: setup especially. Had an ok nite at RA, a little inconsistent though. And spent 35-40 seconds trying to get the car straightened out after a spin. The first part of the race was good for me but later not so much. A top 5 in class is ok and look to improve on that. Looks like a great season ahead.
