Great Race to all that finish. Great give and take out there. My apologies to the P2 guys that got caught up in the Pit Issue. Please see the post about that and what caused it.
Finally had a race I can somewhat be proud of getting 5th in class and actually finishing 5th in the race., not 13th and getting it because I was the next P1 driver....lol.
Start was a little shaky for me, first time with the diesel off the line. Sorry If I held up anyone. Somehow I goofed on my 4th / 5th gear ratio match and didn't transfer a setting so I was loosing ground to the rest of the class going up the essess.
Good battles all around. Great race.

;D My set up theory for this track worked. I just laid the wings down and held on in the corners. I usually use alot more downforce but this track lets you carry speed through the corners without much wing. It makes it much easier to pass if the car will do 192. I did forget to turn off damage but it let me go at 42 seconds and I had a good lead. The Captain scared me by pitting real late thought I was gonna get another second. This is the only season I have run where that would not make me happy. Good racing all see you next time.

Congrats Mark on a dominating Win. I had nothing for the Carbon racing machine. Way to go Terry and Sandy you guys looked like you had a great battle in the end, I wish I could have been there to make it more interesting hehe. Ced, the P2's were not the only one's with pit problems, for some reason Alex's car was in my pit and caused me around 10secs. to finally nudge it enough to get my crew to work on the car, time that was sorely missed here on this short track. Poor Norm got caught behind me, as I was sideways trying to get the pit work done. Congrats to Scott for the P2 win, and Thanks to All drivers who gave passing room. Cya on track..........Rick

Red Weasel Racing Reports
Race Line: Watkins Glen Historic Race
Well, what can I say… Aurgh! Comes to mind. Had a descent Qualification for both the Weasels went well but not uber ultra stellar but well enough to be a threat for the top podium spot. And as the race start neared the Head Weasel spent many minutes practicing getting off the line, as we all remember the last few races I have had issues getting off the line without spinning like a top whirling across the track, and the time spent doing this really helped me get off the line when the lights went green.
And with the race start I was off and found myself intermixed with the P1s and trying to put the hammer down with the heavily fuel laden Red Weasel Racing Porsche RS Spyder and as we rounded the Outer Loop I dropped my right side tyres just a tad to far off the wrong side of the curbing and I sent myself spinning wildly across the track (in the middle of traffic) and slammed hard against the wall, this of course relegated me to all but last place in the parade of cars and from the way back the leader bearing down on me but fast… I settled in for yet another long hard drive to what I could only hope was going to be respectable and possibly a podium step.
Lap after lap I poured it on, raising my lap average by more than half a second running down the cars in front of me second by second lap after lap, the 30 minute warning flashed and I was getting well into the middle of the field just a few more laps as a few drivers dove into the pits for their required stop I poured on the coal and started to burn up my tyres trying to set a super fast Pit In lap. I used the long straight to adjust my Pit Strategy; I dropped 4 gallons of fuel decided to double stint my Mediums and let the damage stand. I ran my fuel down to about 2 gallons and headed for the Mystery Pits, as I rounded the Pit Entry turn my eyes caught my Pit Box, well forward and clear of cars, careful not to slide as I stopped in my box it will be fuel only and I was out in 16.9 seconds.
Loosing only a few spots during my stop I was back on track and trying to continue to run down a podium. Lap after lap I was up on the wheel driving smart…”What Ced is passing me? Oh, My Chosen Deity it good to see him in a P1 car that is actually faster than the P2s” with only a few minutes left, I was surprised to see Pat’s car got garaged so near the end, especially due to the fact that he was several days in front of the rest of the field. I figured that even if he had wrecked he could have taken his wheel and built a new car around it and get back on track and still get a step.
Miss Susan was doing well for most of my episode of Stupid Weasel until she had gotten a healthy shove by a blindingly fast P1 (I think it was Sandy she was … colorfully expressing in a nonbiased and loving way) when it sent her for an OTE and requiring her to add a pit stop to her race. But she faired on and finished, and in some cases just finishing is as exciting as a step on the podium.
And as the checkers dropped, and the smoke cleared and the last car was pushed across the line, we turned to our coolers and drank and regaled each other with stories of our race…
Lots of fun and hard work for that one, we need to really look at the frame rate drop near the Pit Area as well as the lack of Garage Area for our next race here.

What could go wrong, did go wrong. That's the long and the short of it for me.

Full Metal Squirrel doffs armor for a Wild Weasel Post Race Party After the Watkins Glen race the Full Metal Squirrel made a rare post race appearance at the Red Wesel Racing Team’s Tent for a little fun. Tragedy was averted when he was found later the next day out in the parking lot. Here is just another example of a true party animal. James Head Weasel Attachments:
