Thought I'd start this thread to give everyone a place to post their comments about the race. First and foremost for me, congrats to Brenda for finishing in her very first online race ever. Considering that in the two practice races for this event, she finished 6 laps total, it was a vast, vast improvement. She's still intimidated by traffic but that will improve with time. Second, WTG, Greg -- the winner in LMP2 despite a car that seemed to have been smoking the whole race. Imagine how he'd do with a healthy car. Third, I owe everyone an apology for messing up the first race start, and thanks to Ced for the restart which no doubt prevented me from being tarred and feathered by all the people who suffered from my mistake. My race was uneventful. I had nothing for the winner in my division so I just tried to settle into a rhythm and avoid the kinds of mistakes that lose large chunks of time. Almost messed up big time with my fuel, though and pulled into the pits with 0.1 gallons remaining. My only mistake the whole race was on the final turn of the final lap. Brenda and I were having a conversation and I just plain brainfaded myself right into the sand. Fortunately I suffered no consequences other than embarrassment. Big thanks to Ced for all the work he's done getting things ready for us to race. This is going to be a fun season with great cars and I can't wait. Edit to add an apology to Rob Thaeler for running him into the wall when I went in for my pitstop -- I didn't even know it happened until I watched the replay. I knew you were behind me but with those messed up mirrors, I had no idea you were beside me and I just turned in off the corner. I hope you weren't damaged and our stops were about the same length, but apologies anyway for the contact.

Kudos to Dan and Greg on their wins and to the podium finishers in both divisions.
A few anxious moments on the first couple of laps and then everything went fairly smoothly for me. Somewhere along the way I got some (insignificant) damage that I would have chosen to not repair but completely forgot about changing the option before pitting. 63 seconds in the pits cost me a position but then a couple of guys had trouble at the end and I gained a spot or two. With the talented drivers we have in the league this year I'll be happy to have top 10 finishes.
Everyone did a nice job during the race and as usual it was a lot of fun.
We all owe our administrators, primarily Ced, a round of beer, er, I mean thanks for all the effort put into making this work. I would never have been able to have the patience that has been shown in preparing for this season. THANKS!!

HI all--
Seemed to be nice driving by all; I had a couple incidents with lapped traffic which was always trying to be courteous, but a couple times so much so that they went off the track!
I'd rather wait than for that to happen, especially when we have 2 different classes on the track. If I did tap anyone inadvertently, I certainly apologize----I'm not sure if that happened, though.
Cudos to Ced and all; it will be nice to have a final car download so that everyone can have it ready for the next race ahead of time. I thought I had everything, and still missed one...
Terry

It was a good race meeting more for the amount of people that were on the track than my own personal race, there are always problems at the very start of the season so it was expected and eventually I fixed my problems, got 12th on the grid and managed a good start off the line and worked up to 9th, then lost my rhythm and took a couple of laps to get back into it, lost the frpnt cowling after a head on with the wall and pitted on lap 7. Came out of the pits down in 16th but worked up to 12th again for the end of the race. Thanks to the admins for a fairly hassle free evening and probably the biggest meeting of drivers I have taken part in so far, hope the rest of the season is like this

Congrats to Don, first Porrs win. i losta few spots at the start. didnt want to end up a pile of smokin sheet metal. when i switched from qualifying setup to race i put the wrong setup in. i lost 2.5 seconds a lap. engine starting overheating on first run, opened up the radiator 1 clicked . solved that problem. but i had no top end speed.
I do want to offer my apology to Susan, i flat run her over on the back part of the track. i came in way too fast, thought she was going to move to the left. She didnt move and i couldnt get slowed down fast enough. sorry. while i didnt get any damage i hope my hit wasnt too damaging to you. sorry.

First off...apologies to Kevin and Greg...think I got into both of you early in the race. Landed P3 after qual but didnt stay there very long. Had some serious moments in the first 20 minutes ending up with damage and used-up tyres.
After pitting midway thru the race, repairing damage and settling down, my lap times got down to what I was used to running. Learned alot from that race. Tough luck to Rob on the fuel thing. Looks like its gonna be a barn burner of a season! Major thanks to Ced for his efforts !!! Brent

Thanks to everyone that showed up and ran a great race. Kudos to Brenda for driving a well done race. Congrats to the LMP1 and 2 Winners. Waited too long to go out to qual and messed up the only lap I got in and started around 18th or 19th. That was funny on the first start because I was type Restart, my car was actually flipping upside down and sliding on the rollbar. After my T1 overagressive move and body slamming a weasel, the race went pretty smooth, except. I gotta recalculate the full mileage on that Riley. After I pitted the first time I looked down and saw the time said 33:10 left. Crap, I'm gonna be short. Came in for a splash and go with 10minutes left, 7 second pitstop and the fuel light came back on driving the final lap. That pitstop cost me one spot and maybe two as I was in 10th and closing on the 9th place car . Great race all and I'll take the 11th.

Had a lousey qualifying and placed 8th. Got a good start and was following everyone around at pace until 3/4 of the way through the first lap when I got body slammed by another car that was coming back on track. The hit caused me to slam into the outside wall just after the bridge and my car was to damaged to continue. DaveS

First of all let me congratulate the winners in both classes. Then congratulations to both Brenda and Susan. Susan is becoming too ........ good. I'm not the fastest by far but I really have trouble outrunning her anymore. And Brenda is already showing signs of improvement. And she is handling the traffic quite well. I hope she doesn't become too intimidated by lapping traffic. It's hard. I know because I still have difficulties handling that. It's hard trying to let someone past safely and quickly without running off the road. You really have to pay attention. Of course it would help if some of the "hotshots" would be a little more careful. My hat's off to James too. His Reynard was eating my Dome alive. Finally , Kudos to Ced on a really fun series. Oh , BTW Ced, I saw the track from the inverted position as well on that first start.

Good and bad race for me. Got a decent qualifying effort to start P4 on the grid. Good start to get to P3. Then I have a brain toot by half-spinning the car off the curb T3 L1. I catch the spin and rejoin P6. OK, initial bad out of the way... time for some more good. I was able to move back a couple positions in the next couple laps, and get back to P3 by about mid-race, closing on Paul who is still in P2. We had a couple fun laps running about a half second apart. At somewhere around the 35 minute mark, Paul and I are racing up to T14 (the final corner). Brenda was moving to the outside of the track, I assume to let us by cleanly. Paul locked a little bit under braking which took him to the outside of the corner right behind Brenda. So, I tried to duck inside, and got beside Paul. This resulted in the incident Paul described above. NP there... I agree with you that those mirrors are difficult to use. So, here starts my next bad section, which pretty much lasted the rest of the race. The spin took me onto pit entrance beyond the pit wall, so I had to pit even though it was about 15 minutes before I had intended to come in. I had an early pit box, so I'm frantically trying to get my pit stop fuel level adjusted. Get that done (I thought... : , but in the process, I knocked my pit limited off, and I sped on pit exit. So... stop-and-go next lap... and then I forget to turn off fueling and the stop-and-go turned into 17 seconds instead of 10... even though no fuel was delivered... ugh. I have a good period where I was making decent laps, but that didn't last very long as I started running out of fuel. The car sputtered entering T14 and I couldn't coast it up pit entrance to get a splash. I think I lost 4 positions since I didn't have an extra 0.1 gallon on the approach to pit lane. ugh! That said, this series is gonna be an absolute hoot to drive. Congrats to Don on your solid run to get overall! Talk to y'all later. Rob

Sincere apologies to the 2 car for spinning in front of you at the start.
No excuse, it was a bonehead move. Saw some commotion behind us in my mirror and one thing I learned the hard way (several times, duh) is if you don't pay attention every second something bad's probably going to happen (like running an entire lap with the rev limiter on thinking the car is broke and taking 6 min. for the lap... nice, huh?).
Great to race with you folks. And Ced, as others have said and as a former league admin ... thanks for all you do, it's not an easy job.
Question: Will the next race be next week in an attempt to catch up the schedule or will we wait two weeks?
Thanks,
Jim N.

My take on the race . . . I didn't have one. Not from lack of trying. I joined the game and was missing about 6 cars, I think mostly LMP2's. And for some reason a lot of people did not have my car. So I just gave up and left, too tired to deal with it at the moment. Having said that I have to say the "what you need to race" thread is way too chaotic for someone who had just pulled an all-nighter at work and was functioning on less then 4 hours sleep. I think it would help a great deal if the cars were at least group by type (C60, R8, etc) then how they are at the moment, then I might have had half a chance of making the race. Although I probably would have fallen asleep during my pit stop. ;D

didn't expect much considering it was my first race. plus my mirrors and the dash lcd were inop. my goal was to hold my line and follow the flags. got a questionable drive thru right at the start but made up a lot of ground midrace. very very considerate driving by everyone in both classes. had some exciting battles with bob oldnslo and larry h. and really had to push hard to keep james at bay late--wow! thanks to ced and paul for inviting me to join up. looking forward to mosport with ample radiator ducting and no smoke cheers, greg #78miska lmp2 ps-uploaded a new .dds file that has the proper dome chassis for lmp2
