Rick - sorry about the tap in the turn at the top of the hill, I was already on the acelrator hard and I closed in with you for what ever reason (you had to lift or tap the brake) sorry I spun us both... we had a great run going there.

Those were some fun races. The start of both were hectic but fairly clean. Both races I had to deal with the sled.

Fun night of racing, although I was a bit disappointed with how Race 1 turned out.
Qualified P4 for both events, and for both events I lined up behind a pair of KPax Volvos. Deja Vu all over again!
Race 1 start was not real great... the Aston has such a short 1st gear that I spun the rears pretty hard at the start. Got settled in at about P5 and was able to keep tabs with the guys ahead. I was quick in some locations, but not in locations that made for good passing opportunities, so I bided my time to see whether I could sneak into the Top 3 at the end. I figured I didn't have anything for the Top 2. At about the 15 minute mark, a couple guys slipped up and I was able to move to P4 and challenge P3 (Brian) pretty hard. I'm not sure what happened to Brian, but he juked hard left into me going down the back straight sending me into a long spin. He waited for me to recover before getting going, but I had already fallen to P6 overall, which is where I finished.
The start of Race 2 was pretty wild, with some door banging going through the Keyhole the first time. I think I emerged in P3 (would have to check the replay) and this time I was able to maintain position pretty close to the Top 2. We clicked off a bunch of laps, and I tried a couple times to stick a nose in here and there to get Brian in P2. He finally slipped off the Keyhole at about the 13 minute mark, and I was able to make it stick under braking into T3. Brian was still quick, but perhaps losing some tire, and I was able to hold him off for a good while. With 2 laps to go, I started overdriving and was sliding a good bit, but managed to keep the car moving forward. Ended up Race 2 with a P2 finish... happy to get a PORRS A car on the podium.
Much fun, and I'm looking forward to more races with the Aston.
