Yes, it would create more interaction with other drivers and prevent the hypnosis I got during the race today...

For this track it was hard, but this is the last of the 8milers ;D.
The only track that will be keep as an annual Ironman Race will be the 79 Leman Track.

Let me add this. With one class I would keep the number of entries to what we have now, which is 24. If Multi class I would try for 30 - 36.
Also, if multi, there would be a minimum entry for the second class. If not enough sign up, then everyone competes in class 1

I had voted for single class but now that I think about it if the two classes were way different like a prototype and GT class it would probably be really cool. No matter what, I'll be there. These are fun!!

Spa was my suggestion so I take full responsibility for it. I really thought it would be better but the cars just spread out over the track and that was that.

BTW, I just scanned the available tracks on RFC and here are some that I thought would be good for furture Ironman events. Please feel free to comment or make your own suggestions. I'm just putting these out for discussion:
O-Ring Gotzenburg Silverstone (88 or earlier) Zandvoort 79 Paul Ricard 88 Imola 94

The absolutely *perfect* track would be Solitude, but unfortunately nobody's converted it for rFactor...

I am still working on converting PORRS Motorsports Park and Zenjoltis Road Course.....2 PORRS Originals with a lot o room and REAL FAST.
Most likely Class 1 will be a LMP-1 class. I originally was looking at the GTP conversion but I really like the LMP's and Virtua is no way near completing their conversion. Would be many more cars than we are currently running. The kicker would be what to run for the 2nd Class. LMP-2, GT's, Supercars, etc

Someone just made a Limerock Mountain course for GTR2 and it is fantastic. I wonder if it can be converted over to rFactor?

Man, that would be great if Lime Rock Mountain became an rF track. That's one of my all time favorites. O-Ring would be another one that I'd go for.

I would be interested in seeing a multiclass IRONMAN myself.
Keeping in mind that multiclass racing offers a few challenges beyond a single class event.
Depending on which mod or combinations of mods are used there can at times be strange effects based on the interaction of the vehicles as it relates to the server. I remember how the last Porsche leaving the server could create issues for the remaining BMW's in the combined mod we did.
This is not a deal breaker in most cases as there are work arounds to most combined issues.
There is also the issue of vehicle selection, driver and time differential. I have seen leagues handle this well and others handle it poorly. The faster drivers and cars complaining about the slower class holding them up and the slower class and drivers complaining of aggressive driving in the faster class.
I have tried a few multiclass leagues as well as combining two mods to try and create a relatively equal class in the TPTCC perviously.
I do enjoy multicar / multiclass mods over the single entry offerings. However the single class mods many times work out to be more practical in the past.
The last year we ran the Bullrun with NR2003 and had a multiclass field I quite enjoyed the added interaction and different car classes in an endurance event.
I think limiting your field to 30-36 cars total you should be able to stay out of trouble with respect to server load and a multiclass mod.
All said I am for giving it a shot in the IRONMAN.

Hey Kev,
That's kinda what we are doing this season. LMP-1 and LMP-2 classes and now everyone seems accustomed to the speed differences and handling traffic well.
It is fun.

Most likely Class 1 will be a LMP-1 class. . . . . Would be many more cars than we are currently running. The kicker would be what to run for the 2nd Class. LMP-2, GT's, Supercars, etc If its Supercars as the 2nd class then I say emphatically no, LMPs or GTs get a qualified yes. But, as I have been informed this is now a series. So, I think the series should finish out the season with the same cars it started with. It only makes sense and is only fair to those who have competed in both races and are racing for the championship. If you still want to add a second class then I suggest keeping the Panoz for those who are going for the series and how about the Sportscars we ran last season as the 2nd class? I think they would match up pretty well, the Panoz would be a bit quicker and the sports cars would handle better. Might make for an interesting race.
