PORRS GPL69 Spa Race (5-28-06)

Hey Guys,

Race announcement for the Spa race has just been emailed. Let me know if you did not receive it. We'll be running Sunday night at the normal time, using the GPL69 Part 2 mod. Instructions regarding install are included in the race email, as well as an updated schedule for the rest of the PORRS GPL69 season.

I hope everyone is still interested in completing the season. I know we've had some difficulties with meeting our schedule. I hope to have things run more smoothly in the future.

Four of us showed up, Larry.

Dave Slee won, I took second, Ced took third, and Pat Collins gets P4.

Standings will be updated later this week.

Next race is slated for June 11.

Dave, would you mind passing along your car and setup. I have a Spa race this Thursday evening. I have been running the Matra at 3:18.xx on occasion but doubt that will make much of a dent on the leaders.

Thanks Dave. Working getting acquainted with it and anything that will get me in a compettitive position. Not really sure where that is. however.

What kind of lap times where being run during the race, anybody?

I think Dave was down around 3:20 in race trim... I was running somewhere around the 24s. Dave took the pole with a 3:18xxx in the BRM.

I suspect anything in the teens would be pretty good.

The Matra still feels the best so far with the Lotus a close second. PB so far at 3:16.70 with some room to grow. Expect our best driver to be around 13's. He and Rusty would have been a great match.

There is however, the possibility, that the night might change from Thursday to Friday to better accomodate the European drivers. We have a number of them as well as one from Perth, Aust.
